Concluding thoughts: Surah 4 - Observation - Islam and Christianity have superior moral foundations compared to atheism - Question - what do you think happened at the end of Jesus’ life and why? Surah 5 - Question - Why would the Quran tell the Jews and Christians to judge by the Torah and the Gospel if the Torah and the Gospel have been corrupted (or partially corrupted)? Surah 6 - Observation - Christians and Muslims can agree - idolatry is wrong and we should worship the one true creator of the universe

For the first question, it's actually really easy. It simply appeared to them so, so of course witnesses and later historians would think that Jesus pbuh actually died. However the true story was simply that he escaped, and what they actually saw was something else like a miracle. The one on the cross could be someone else with the face of Jesus pbuh, or maybe just an illusion. who knows. But they definitely think otherwise. You should also remember that Jesus pbuh disciples should not have been present during the crucifixion, they would have certainly tried to escape from being persecuted by the roman guards. They couldn't have given a detailed account, other than what they've heard from second hand sources or the public. The question about why would Allah do something knowing it would lead to Christianity. You could literally ask this about anything that happened in history. Why did Allah gave Pharaoh a vision about Moses PBUH, causing him to kill every firstborn male child of Israel? Why did Allah test Lucifer with Adam pbuh knowing the outcome? Why did Allah allow suffering in the world? God does whatever he wills, and humans have free will to choose to do anything they want according to the circumstances they were given. For the second question, basically, the Quran was calling the Christians and jews out for not practising what was in their own scriptures, basically telling them that they were hypocritical. The rabbis would make so many restrictions on minor details, while disregarding the major ones. Had they just followed what was left of the law or commandments, it would have been better for them. "Then, you are those [same ones who are] killing one another and evicting a party of your people from their homes, cooperating against them in sin and aggression. And if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, although their eviction was forbidden to you. So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do." 2:85 in summary, although a lot of the bible was corrupted, they were still being hypocritical for not even following their own scriptures. They dont know whats corrupted or not, so it doesnt make sense for them not to follow it. There are still a lot of the original revelation and commandments mixed inside of it, so it was still a net good if they just obeyed what was inside. "And if they would but truly observe the Torah and the Gospel and all [the revelation] that has been bestowed from on high upon them by their Sustainer, they would indeed partake of all the blessings of heaven and earth. Some of them do pursue a right course; but as for most of them -vile indeed is what they do" 5:66

Answer to question surah 5: The Torah that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala sent had guidance and light for the people. The purpose of light is to show way. When it’s dark we can’t make out where to go and where to stop. Therefore, noor here refers to the explanation of the rulings given in the Torah. The Prophets of Allah sent after Musa aalyhi salaam up till Eesa aalyhi salaam submitted to Allah’s command and judged matters according to the Torah. A person who does not submit to Allah finds it difficult to accept judgments according to the law of Allah. Submission means not verbal utterance but my hearts and limbs as well.Rabbaniyyoon, the plural of Rabbani, are those who worship Rab. He is the one who nourishes himself and others through the ilm [knowledge] that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has given him. He is an alim who also has a lot of spirituality. Ahbar, on the other hand, are people who are greatly learned. They simplify the technical or scientific matters into simple terms. They are the experts or specialists in a particular field. The Prophets, the Rabbaniyyoon and the Ahbar would judge according to the Book of Allah because they were commanded to guard or preserve His Book. This does not mean wrapping the Book of Allah, placing it on the shelf and not letting anyone touch it. Preserving the Book of Allah means practicing it because when we are practice it then only are the people going to be informed about the laws of Allah. The Prophets, the learned worshipers and the scholars were guards over the Book of Allah. They were in-charged with keeping an eye on the practices in the society that people don’t deviate from the Divine teachings but practice what has been revealed. Then the Prophets, the Rabbaniyyoon, the Ahbar as well as the Jews were told not to fear anyone but Allah in practicing the Book.Many Jews could not accept the Messenger of Allah sallAllahu aalyhi wa sallam because they feared their rabbis and community people. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is telling them when you have read the description of the Prophet and witnessed that he really is the Messenger that you were informed about, then do not hesitate from accepting him. They were warned against changing or altering the law of Allah to gain some fame, money or some other worldly benefit. No matter how much one earns in dunya it is lesser than what awaits him in the Hereafter. So one should worry about their akhirah and not their dunya. People who do not judge according to the Book of Allah are from the disbelievers.LESSONS: - All the Scriptures that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala revealed were guidance and light for their people. - It is the responsibility of the people who have been given the Scriptures and who have knowledge to guard and preserve the Book of Allah by practicing it commands; to make sure that the Book is read, understood and acted upon. - There is no justification for the people who have the Scripture to abandon it and refer other sources for judgment. - People who have ilm [knowledge] are the heirs of the Prophets. They are assigned the same job that the Prophets were tasked with i.e. teaching the Book, making people understand it and practicing it. - Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala praises those who have ilm because they are the preservers of the Book. - It is not just a judge or a political leader who passes judgments but the scholars or religious leaders too can pass a judgment. - By mentioning the Prophets first, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has declared the sequence in which we should honor people. There are some people in our society who value their scholars more than the Prophet sallAllahu aalyhi wa sallam. The status of a Prophet is higher than that of a scholar. - A Rabbani is not just a person who possesses knowledge, but he uses that knowledge to improve his worship. For example, there are several people who memorize Qur’an but what’s the purpose? One can read the Qur’an from mushaf than why memorize it? But when a person memorizes Qur’an to improve his Salah or to seek pleasure in Salah then he is acquiring knowledge to improve his worship and not for show-off or to be known as a hafidh. - A person should only fear Allah and no one else. Sometimes we fail to submit to the commands of Allah because we fear people. What are my friends going to say if I grow a beard? What is my husband going to say if I choose to do hijab? Is anyone going to marry him? Is anyone going to give me a job? The worldly benefits of dunya are going to end with our life, but what’s in the akhirah is precious and forever. We should strive more for akhirah as much as we work for dunya. A person who does not surrender to the commands of Allah resembles a disbeliever.

In the previous video I have answered all the questions and gave some channels names at the end. you should check out Hamza's Den and dawahwise channel. they are experts in the bible *death and crucifixion of Jesus* 4:157 and for boasting, “We killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” But they neither killed nor crucified him-it was only made to appear so.1 Even those who argue for this ˹crucifixion˺ are in doubt. They have no knowledge whatsoever-only making assumptions. They certainly did not kill him. this is common response from islamophobic site that in this verse it is saying that Allah made it appear. but this verse doesn't say it and this is totally wrong. the problem is you don't have any eye witness of Jesus crucifixion. So, the Quran actually confirms the history that the history appeared to them. which is people actually thought Jesus was crucified but in fact he isn't. like one person who is not an eyewitness said to other person that Jesus was crucified. then he said to other person that jesus was crucified. that's how the news expands. that's how the history works. watch this video from 1:16:00 kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJnLgoCApdygf6M and also watch this from 6:30:00 kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2qsn3ZmmpahgZI as I am busy, I will give you the answers of the other questions later

Hello Dax, as a former Christian myself, reading the Quran was incredibly different than reading the Bible. There is something to be said about the tone and voice of the Quran compared to the Bible. From what I’ve been able to discern about what the Quran says about the Bible, specifically the Gospel or Injeel, this was something completely different to what we call the Gospels today and something Jesus pbuh was given and shared with his initial 12 disciples. The Gospels we have today were derived from that original text, but based on 3rd person sources and oral transmission through Paul and others who were not of the initial 12. I read that the Torah that exists today has a similar story with Moses having the original text, and that the Torah we have today is a derivation of the original based on oral transmissions. That is to say that the Bible and Torah we have today are not the original divine works that were entrusted to Jesus and Moses, peace and blessings upon them, but express many of the same ideas and concepts as well as certain laws that became traditions over time. May God’s peace and guidance be upon you, Dax.

It's nice to meet you! Thanks for taking the time to respond. The question I'm wrestling with right now in relation to what you said (and you've given the clearest breakdown I've seen so I really appreciate it) is these verses in the Quran affirming the written documents the Jews and Christians had in the 7th century. 5:43-47 stick out to me because they push Jews and Christians back to what they have, meaning what they have faithfully represents what was given to Moses and Jesus. So what verses do you think make it clear that the originals gospel and Jesus was lost? Thanks for your time

@@daxvanderwal hello, I suggest you asking a sheikh or imam who has knowledge.. but I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.. surah 5: 43-47 has a context where at the time the verse was revealed, the Jews in Medina made discriminatory laws between them based on the war between the 2 Jewish tribes at that time.. so that when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came to Medina, many Jews asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to be their judge.. The law referred to here is about stoning and punishment for murderers.. These laws are still listed in the Torah that they hold, but they do not practice it.. The Quran describes the behavior of people of the book who often change the word of God, for example in surahs 2/75 and 5/13-15 and also in several hadiths, one of which is when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ reminded Umar ibn khatab that if he studied the books of the Jews and Christians it would be difficult to separate what was true and what was distorted..

I was born into a Christian family but accepted Islam after learning about it at the age of 25. Alhamdulillah, I have been muslim now for 20 years. On the question of Jesus from what I learned in Islam Jesus (peace be upon him) did not die but was ascended to heaven. In the gospels it interestingly says that Jesus asked God to "take away this cup" from him and in Islam we know that Allah does not reject the supplication of a prophet. So maybe Allah saved him as a result of this supplication (if it was really made as the gospels claim) Allahu 'alam/Allah knows best. On a more personal note, as a child being raised in Christianity I was always very sad when contemplating on the alleged torture and dead of Jesus. In Islam on the other hand it made complete sense to me that God would not let his prophets down and let them be defeated. That's why e.g. we believe when Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was put into the fire by his people the fire was made cool by Allah so Ibrahim would not be harmed. Alhamdulillah, this is so beautiful and it reflects to me the nature of the benevolent almighty God. Why would Allah make Jesus be tortured and die naked on the cross? If it is for our salvation in Islam we believe that no soul bears the burden of another soul.
@daxvanderwal Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. So in Jesus' prayer in the garden if you read the entire passage he accepts the cup of suffering concluding that he wants the will of the Father to be done. It's also important to note that biblically Jesus wasn't forced by God to be tortured and to die, Jesus wanted to and willingly came down to save humanity. As far as no soul bearing the burden of another, this is something we see all throughout the Torah, Psalms, and Gospel - so I think it is the way God has set up the idea of justice (I know we would disagree on that but just wanted to explain Christian theology a little)

I appreciate your honesty and hard work to read and understand the Quran. Regarding question 2 in sura 5 ; the verse was revealed by Allah to show how inconsistent and hypocritical some of the Jews were in the time of the prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him). It is basically saying ( you Jews consider that the Torah is the unchanged Devine revelation of God, yet you ask the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to be your judge? ) this means 2 things, the first is they do not care about the law of God that they have , and the second is that they don't follow the last prophet knowing that he was sent by God but choose him to be their arbitrator. And the Quran is clearly claiming that they have changed their scriptures in chapter 2 verse 79. ( source from AlTabari).
@daxvanderwal Жыл бұрын
Hey! Thank you very much I appreciate it. How do you reconcile 2:79 with 2:41?
@kelanitweir4994 Жыл бұрын
@@daxvanderwal very straight forward, the verse asks the Jews to believe in the revelation ( the Quran) because it does have the same core message as the Torah ( worship the Only true God alone, the first commandment). Not only that but their scriptures is conforming that prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is indeed a prophet of God, hence a lot of Jews migrated to Madina prior and waited for a prophet. The Jews used to say to pagan arabs ( wait until our prophet comes) clearly, they were expecting a prophet with a given scripture. So both verses, 41 and 79, are in harmony and aligned with each other . Even today, many Jews acknowledge that Isaiah 42 v 11 is clearly describing the prophet Muhammad ( pbuh). ( source ;AlSaidy and AlTabary ). Hope that answers your question.

@@kelanitweir4994 doesn't that mean that these Jews had the core message of the Torah in the 7th century? I just see 2:41 confirming the validity of the Jewish scriptures at that time. but then 2:79 also makes it clear that there was a group who trying to write scripture for themselves so in my mind - the Torah existed in the 7th century, the Jews could use it to test the validity of the Quran and see if Muhammad was prophesied about - but then there was also a group of Jews who didn't like this and tried to change the scripture (verse 79). Does that sound like a good complete picture?
@viobull5548 Жыл бұрын
@@daxvanderwal Hello Dax, to understand the context of Jews writing scripture other than what was given to Moses pbuh, you must understand that many Jews of the time period and even today do not adhere strictly to the Torah. Instead, much of what has been written to be Jewish scripture is what is called the Talmud of which the majority came from Babylonian Jewish authors. I believe the Quran is referring to a lot of Talmudic texts that were attributed or passed down as coming from God, but actually have a foundation in the Babylonian occult traditions which distorted the Jewish religion and ultimately led to what Jesus referred to as the lost sheep of Israel.

Hi Dax, I love that you are very passionate to understand the Quran. That is very remarkable and amazing. Bismillah. In the name of Allah, i will try to answer your question with what i understand. I'm not a scholar but i will try my best. Regarding 17:31 about the torah and gospel, we muslims believe that the true torah and gospel are the ones that were originally sent down to prophet Moses PBUH and Jesus PBUH in their own languages. And the bible nowadays has been misinterpreted and got changed in some verses. Since Moses PBUH and Jesus PBUH are also the prophets of Allah, the message of Torah and Gospel must align to the message in Quran too which is sent down to last prophet, Muhammad PBUH. In fact, Torah and Gospel were sent to the prophets for the people of their time only, not for us. We who live in the end of time should follow Quran which is completely preserved. We believe the passage in question refers to the original Torah and Gospel. Who follows those original scriptures are the righteous. We dont have the original nowadays. Think of it like this. Nowadays, Quran and Bible are not align with each other. But there must be only one truth. There cannot be two different believes with different gods and both be true. So from our stand point, it is wrong to say that Torah and Gospel have not been corrupted when some of the messages contradict with the Quran itself. We muslims believe that prophet Jesus PBUH was not crucified. Allah saved Jesus by raising him to the heaven before he was going to be killed. Later Allah will send Jesus down to Earth again to defeat Anti-Christ. Thats all from me. Allah knows best. Hope this helps you Dax and sorry for the long comment.

Hey bro, for the Jesus thing for your question for the last episode, this was what I said on the first episode, im assuming u weren’t able to read it, since I commented it pretty late, hopefully it answers your question: To be accurate, the Quran calls Jesus “His Word إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِیسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَۖ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابࣲ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَیَكُونُ﴿ ٥٩ ﴾ • Dr. Mustafa Khattab: Indeed, the example of Jesus in the sight of Allah is like that of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be!” And he was! • Abdul Haleem: In God’s eyes Jesus is just like Adam: He created him from dust, said to him, ‘Be’, and he was. • Sahih International: Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was. Aal-E-Imran, Ayah 59 This explains why. He was God’s word because God said “Be” and he was, like for Adam. For verse 3:49, I don’t believe it to be as hard-hitting as you do, because Moses turned a stick into a snake in early chapter 27. You said that creating life is something we attribute to God, and you’re right, that’s why in 3:49, it says “by God’s leave” or “by God’s permission” or “by God’s will”. All the prophets were able to do the things they did by God’s permission and will. :)

@@daxvanderwal hey Dax! Can I give my thoughts about forgiven sin? penance in Christianity is one of the main teachings of Christianity, because Christians believe that the death of Jesus on the cross was in order to atone for human sins. Because without the death of Jesus, there is no atonement. Because of that, they firmly believe that Jesus is the savior of sin. The question is, is it true that Jesus is the savior of sin? Was the teaching of atonement taught by Jesus in the Bible? Sin according to the Bible (Bible) started from the fall of Adam, when he ate the forbidden fruit. In the view of the Bible, the wages of sin is death. So according to Paul's logic which is still influenced by the teachings of paganism (idol worshipers), anciently, according to the old agreement, if they have sinned a lot, then they must slaughter an animal, such as a cow or sheep as a sin offering. They believe that the animal's blood can purify them, as written in the Torah of Moses: Because the life of any creature is in the blood and I have given the blood to you on the altar to make peace for your souls, because blood makes peace through the soul' (Leviticus 17: 11) The teaching of penance with the blood and lives of animals is very clearly carried out by the prophet Aaron, in our law of Moses, as in the verse below: "Aaron must offer up the bull which will , he must be a sin offering for himself and make atonement for him and for his family, slaughter the bull." (Leviticus 16:11) The teachings of penance with the blood and lives of animals greatly influenced Paul, because he lived in an era of ancient pagan religious beliefs (paganism) which were still very strong. So do not be surprised if in the letter to the Hebrew church, Paul wrote the following: "And nearly everything was sanctified according to the law by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." (Hebrews 9:22)

Very lengthy read but it's answering the question you posed about 11:20 ! I subscribe to the idea that Jesus, peace be upon him, wasn't crucified, and instead went into hiding/ by miracle, he waited in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights according to his own prophecy on the matter, likening himself to Jonah, while a decoy was crucified. Then when he emerged back to his disciples in the upper room, they had heard the news from hearsay that he had been killed, and thus were shocked to see him. Now, the people that wrote the Gospels wouldve interpreted that re-emergence from hiding as a resurrection. Finally, we all believe that he ascended. I'll quote some proofs to backup my beliefs: 1) Messianic prophecy from Pslams 91: 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” It agrees with the Qur'anic idea that Jesus would be protected. And just like in the prophecy, Jesus PBUH did call to God, in the garden of Gethsemane. 2) Next is John (11-17) supporting the idea that he was in hiding/disguise because Mary mistook him for a gardener: 11 Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. 13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” 14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. 15 He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” 17 Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” 3) Proof that the disciples weren't eyewitnesses and only heard that Jesus PBUH was crucified: Mark 14:50 50 They all forsook him, and fled 4) Regarding the prophecy mentioned where Jesus compares himself to Jonah: Mathew 12:38-40 38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.” 39 But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah: 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Do note that if we were to subscribe to the idea that Jesus was buried after his crucifixion, the timeframe that would pass until he'd rise isn't quite 3 days and 3 nights. It'd be closer to 2 days and 1 night if I'm not mistaken. Finally, there is the possibility that it was Judas that was crucified, I'd argue this because the Qur'an says the following: 5-114 Jesus, son of Mary, prayed, “O Allah, our Lord! Send us from heaven a table spread with food as a feast for us-the first and last of us-and as a sign from You. Provide for us! You are indeed the Best Provider.” 115 Allah answered, “I am sending it down to you. But whoever among you denies afterwards will be subjected to a torment I have never inflicted on anyone of My creation.” And I'd argue that the Bible isn't clear about how exactly Judas died either, with two differing accounts in Mark and Mathew, thus leaving the possibility open. Ultimately, Judas's death is a relatively insignificant aspect anyway.

Hey brother, Really love the content of your channel. Actually, your character, manner of speech, sincerity, facial expressions are very similar to my uncle whom I love for his piety, he is an army general, but what stands out about his character is his prayer, sincerity, kindness, and love for God. - About the Quran pointing some of the people of the book to their Scripture: When some of the people of the book were asked to look into their own scriptures, that was in a specific context of a specific situation for which their Scriptures then had an explanation. - Allah makes it clear that Jesus was born, tell me how is a god born and looked after as baby by woman (his mother)? If Allah should intend to say thaf Jesus was anything except a man? And since mary gave birth to the supposed god, then took care of him, should she not be a god herself? Like she literally carried god. How does that make sense to someone born with an innate believe in the One Creator, One God, or should we have an innate believe in the trinity (god the father, god the son (Jesus) and god the holy spirit)? Regarding the use of a word "deceive" that's unacceptable: Have you seen how respectful we Muslims are towards Jesus and Mary, and your god whom you call "the Father"? Yet, when Christian missionaries talk about our God, they spread falsehoods about Him. As for the atrocious statement of the Christian missionaries that Allah would deceive: The Quran in chapter 3 verse 54 states "and the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned, and Allah is the best of planners." The historical background for the verse is that the Jews planned evil in order to get Jesus arrested and crucified, as they planned evil... so too did Allah plan to thwart their wicked plan. Christian missionaries have an issue with the words used for both the Jews and Allah (swt). They prefer to translate this way "...and they deceived and so Allah deceived and Allah is the best of deceivers." This translation doesn't exist, it is only created by deluded missionaries in order to lead people astray. The Arabic words "makar" and "makara" can be used for good and negatively. So when the Jews planned to get Jesus arrested and crucified, that was an evil plan. Imagine this for a moment: Imagine they wanted a chaste man(, a chaste man!), a prophet of Allah, slaughtered naked and humiliated, in front of a crowd. That was evil. Whereas when Allah thwarted their plan by saving Jesus, this was good. So the claim missionaries make that Allah was a deceiver by helping one of the Prophets from slaughter at the hands of evil wicked people, this claim has no bearing at the passage historically. The Arabs do not translate these verses as "deceived", the meaning of the word has many translations, the Arabs are quite eloquent and know that there is a 0% chance this can be translated as "Allah is a deceiver who has deceived", and so on. Though the Christian missionaries insist in their falsehood. Edit: I am not going to watch these videos if there are words used / jokes made, that can be seen as disrespectful towards Allah, his prophets, the Holy Quran, or any other aspect of the Islamic faith.
@sosman5345 Жыл бұрын
There is a chance one might assume that in this context I meant / thought that Mary is part of the trinity, I know obviously, that Mary is not part of the trinity, but I merely intend to point out that innately, none of it makes much sense.

I would like to start by saying that Allah, God, Jehova, Yahweh, etc. Is the same God, the difference is in the language. Now the argument Muslims have for the corruption of the previous books is within the Surahs you read, there are verses that condenm the people of the book for "changing words from their original context". As well as in Surah 2:79 it states that there were people that write the books with their own hands and claim it's God's words. This is confirmed by accompanied Hadiths which are the most authentic interpretations of the Quran. Also, in verse 15:09 it states that Allah will take unto himself the preservation of the Quran. As for Jesus (peace be upon him) it's almost unanimous by Muslims that he's still alive in heaven with Allah. How exactly Allah made it appear to the Jews that he was crucified is unclear as you'll find different interpretations. Allah only deceived the Jews that tried to kill him and not the Christians let alone future Christians as Muslims believe Christianity came to being as a result of human's own interfaces with the scripture and not by Allah's doing to decieve them.
@daxvanderwal Жыл бұрын
thanks for the reply! I'm going to study 2:79 some more to understand what it's referring to and talking about. I'm trying to understand verses like 2:79, but also how they make sense with 2:41 and 5:43-47. 4:157 is talking about the Jews so I see what you're saying there, but historically I think all the first-century evidence points to the fact that Jesus died so I would still think that Allah deceived here.
@Othman1992on Жыл бұрын
@@daxvanderwal Thank you for reading my comment, friend! It's also more apparent in 4:46. As for Allah's deception, let's assume that by making it appear to the Jews that he was killed that it was by making someone else look like Jesus, this still wouldn't deceive his believers at the time as they know he's a prophet and know his message regardlessof his death. The only deceivers in my opinion are those who introduced new doctrines such as the trinity (from a Muslim point of view).

So I think in order to test the validity of the Quran, we need a well-preserved Torah and Gospel. do you see where I'm coming from there?

@@daxvanderwal I’m confused, what do you think “confirm” means? The Quran is telling humanity, yes there were prior scriptures given to Moses, David. Abraham and Jesus. Just like it’s been given to prophet Muhammad peace be upon them all. The mistake you’re making is upholding the torah and Injeel over the Quran. The Quran is the final revelation, it’s the preserved and perfected scripture it confirms itself. With its consistency across time, cohesiveness and linguistic and scientific miracles. If anything looking at the contradictions in the Bible in both the old and New Testament. We know the Jewish scriptures (OT) are corrupted. Now the New Testament isn’t the Injeel I think that’s where you’re misinformed. Mark, Luke, Matthew, John are actually anonymous authors these were a collection of manuscripts compiled written 400 years after Jesus disappeared we don’t accept them to be divine revelation. We also reject Paul’s works entirely.

@@daxvanderwal I suggest you watch Muslim Lantern, specifically the video where two Jewish people came to ask questions. And for me, if the Quran confirms what is found in there then I know it's from God - but if the original Torah and Gospel have been lost, then we can't go to them to see if the Quran confirms them or not.

14:00 the same way Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, knew creating us in different colors, shapes, forms, personalities etc would create diversity between us to challenge the choices we make in life towards each other (since this stage of our life is obviously a test), there is wisdom behind all the religions on earth, creates diversity and encourages us to ponder, question and that's how our belief strengthens. so what you're doing right now (reading and questioning things and constantly thinking of Allah) is a form of worship which is beautiful to watch tbh. I dont think this would've been possible if we only had 1 religion. May Allah guide and bless you (((:

17:27 Since you're not satisfied with the answers, I'll give you another way to look at it: Jews and Christians are obeying God commands, right? The commands are in their books, you can argue if they're corrupted or not, there are still commands in their book. Now, imagine the jews who are coming to ask Muhammad: "Look, Muhammad, we don't want to be Muslims, but please give us God's command regarding this issue." How would you take that? Isn't it wrong to seek a command outside of your religion while you have the issue and the solution in your book? Why would you even ask? Allah knows their intention and asked them to obey what He said in the book as long as they're Jews or Christians. Now, that doesn't mean it's okay to stay Christian after you realize Islam is the truth, then you're a disbeliever, but as long as you're not a Muslim, you should follow the book Allah has given to you while learning more about God. That will eventually lead you to Islam. You have to remember, the Torah and Gospel today are much more changed than they were in the 7th century when the Qur'an was revealed. Yet, we Muslims and Christians agree on most of what came to each of us from God. Christianity has a lot of virtue and Allah gave us the Qur'an to confirm that and fix what Humans did to it. He promises us that He'll preserve his last message, not as a punishment to Christians who changed their book, (and they still do,) but as a mercy to those who always seek God and never betray the Truth. Regarding your comment about quran is unclear about jesus diety. In this verse (5,72) Allah says that in the 7th century bible we should find the below jesus statements. They do blaspheme who say: "Allah is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help.

(Comment 1/2) (What happened at the end of Jesus’ (PBUH) life and why?) Hey Dax! Hope you're having a great day today! I saw the first video when it came out and wasn’t sure if I’d be contributing in the comments as I felt like many others would be doing that so my contributions might be not so necessary. However, after seeing this video I really want to give some specific insights that I have especially because I am loving your very brilliant and thought-out questions, your genuine enthusiasm to learn about Islam, and your open-mindedness about the whole journey you are undertaking. On top of all that, you seem like a genuinely nice and educated person who is only interested in pursuing the truth and growing as a person, which is always nice to see! I’m going to post several comments answering your questions (so each comment isn’t too long). I’m not a Muslim scholar, but I am a fairly educated and practicing Muslim and have a multicultural background. I’ve also read the Bible and studied it extensively as I was very interested in the different perspective of Christianity on various topics. What happened at the end of Jesus’ (PBUH) life and why? (Minute 11:39) You explained how there are three options to what happened to Jesus (PBUH), but I would like to point out that the first option you presented is not a valid one. Not only does this first’s tafsir (commentary which goes back directly to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) explain that Jesus never died, there are also Hadiths (direct, exact quotes by the Prophet Muhammad on this matter. It is a clear fact in Islam to believe that Jesus did not die and was not resurrected after death. This is not something that has ever been debated amongst the Islamic scholars in all of history. Regarding the actual options on what happened to Jesus (PBUH), there are two options the way that I see it. The first is that God (SWT) made an enemy of Jesus appear to look like Jesus and he was mistakenly crucified in Jesus’s place. That’s the option that I grew up knowing and believing and I still do to this day. The other option that I’ve heard is that a follower of Jesus volunteered and he was made to look like Jesus by God and was crucified. I don’t prefer this option since I don’t think it’s fair to ask a person to volunteer on Jesus’s behalf when they did nothing wrong to deserve this (“… no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another” (Quran: 17:15)). In both scenarios, Jesus never died and was raised to Heaven by God Almighty awaiting his second coming on Judgement Day. You posed the question of why Allah (SWT) would deceive everyone and make someone look like Jesus (PBUH) knowing that it would lead to Christianity. The thing is that I don’t think this is a valid argument. For example, Noah (PBUH) and his companions on the ark had statues built of them after the Great Flood. Over several generations, people gradually started worshipping these statues (such as the people of Abraham (PBUH) for example) believing they were gods rather than pious believers. You can make the same argument of why God would cause the flood to happen and leave Noah and his companions as survivors knowing that people would soon worship idols of them. God is not trying to control every event to minimize corruption and disbelieving in him. This life is a test and Jesus appearing to be crucified was a test to see who would think he came back from the dead as God and who would continue believing in his original message (the original Gospel that was revealed to him reminding of the commandments of Moses (PBUH). Furthermore, there are many things that have happened that led to people disbelieving in God or turning back on him. There are countless examples in the Quran where the prophets were given miracles and clear signs of God and people still disbelieved after a short time. The point is that no matter how the events of history unfold (like Jesus’s apparent crucifixion), an argument can be made that Christianity still would have been formed and that people would have still worshipped Jesus.

Quran says Muhammad is the best example follow mankind to follow..but he is a sinner (Quran 47:19) while Issah who Muslims claim is Jesus is SINLESS (19:19) . Do you want to follow the Sinner or the SINLESS person??

Two famous readings of this verse, the first is: 5:46 "… and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light…" AND (SAID) "5:47 "let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein." i.e. and we commanded them to judge … The second reading is "SO THAT" 5:46 "… and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light…" SO THAT 5:47 "the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein." with the advent/sending of Muhammad, you are from the people of the Quran, because you are addressed in it

They were asked to change according to the torah about the matter they were asking the prophet about cuz the original ruling is still in it, the verse that asks the jews and christians to observe is saying you’re not on truth till you live be the torah and the gospel knowing that they don’t have so they’re never on truth in less the become muslim and that’s why the Quran was revealed Also idk where you get that in our religion jesus can forgive sins, and we all believe that he didn’t die it’s says that in the Quran that he was risen to heaven, and appeared to them through a person and that’s who they documented, god “ deceived “ jews and Romans as a punishment for disbelieving and his prophet and trying to kill him and that’s the ultimate rejection as he did with people of noah and lott and all the others when they reject he punish , we believe that the early Christians were like us believed that jesus is a prophet of god

5:43 This verse is addressing Mohammad, but bashing the Jews, like how come you come to Muhammed for judgement in this matter (when you reject his prophethood and disbelieve in him. While you acknowledge the Torah revealed to Moses whom you acknowledge his prophethood. And thus you acknowledge that the judgement therein is My judgement. 4:46 talks about that the people of the book are taking words of them books out of context For example you can find the word trinity in the Bible 4:47 ( I speak Arabic ) says to the people of the book believe in what we sent down ( Quran ) similar to what you have Confirming in Arabic ( مؤكدا) The word used is ( مصدقا ) wich comes from the word believed ( صدقه ) and it's root is ( موفقا ) wich is more clear and means similar So the verse is telling the people of the book the Quran is true because it's similar to your books : basically they are going to find all the prophet's of them books stories in Quran which suppose to be a proof for them that Quran is true

To answer the Question in the beginning Jesus the son of Mary in the Quran is seen as the Messiah and word of God in the sense of God created him literally using his word. As when God was going to create Jesus, he simply told him to “Be” and he was, making him Gods word. The five “Special prophets“ are the prophets that changed the world, as in their prophetic missions had the greatest effect on the world. This is Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad I guess you could also say that Jesus is considered special because he is the only prophet that is alive and will return

First, big respect for ur honesty and seeking truth from the right sources. Regarding ur question about what happened to Jesus Christ PBUH in the end, I truly believe what’s mentioned in the holy Quran and I’ll back it up with 2 logical, rationale reasons: 1- since the time of the first human being and prophet Adam PBUH until the last and the seal of the prophets Mohammed PBUH u will never find a single one of them been killed or overpowered by his enemies, in fact God always protect and saved his prophets from their enemies. For example: when God saved prophet Noah from the flood and destroyed his enemies. Also when Ibrahim was thrown into the fire and by God’s mercy he walked out of the fire unharmed. The point is why would I worship a God can’t protect the ones he chooses to preach his word? If that’s the way he treats his beloved prophets then what are my chances to be saved? 2- No way humans die twice in this world it’s just one death in world then the resurrection in the day of judgement and enteral life wither in good place or bad place. So God saved his messenger from such a horrible, humiliating way to die and raise him up to him. And the reason why he’s still alive is because he’s going back in the end time to kill the anti Christ which Jews are still waiting for and thinking his the real Jesus bc they don’t believe in Jesus Christ PBUH. After that he will live in this earth and die like what God has written upon his creation then raised again in the hereafter. May Allah bless u and guide us all to the straight path. Amen

Go to Quran 3:55. The answer is detailed Translation: When Allah said: " ` Isa, I am to take you in full and raise you towards Myself, and cleanse you of those who disbelieve, and place those who follow you above those who disbelieve, upto the Day of Doom. Then to Me is your return, whereupon I shall judge between you in what you have been differing in."

5:12 Where did you read that the Quran gives Jesus the attribute to forgive sins?
@geesihalas6590 Жыл бұрын
4- OPTION 4: Is even if we agree that Jesus died and killed while he was innocent, then he is a martyr which is in islam not counted as death but real life like the one we live now also called as life in heaven. So, if we grant you the argument that Jesus died, then he is alive like any honorable martyr but a tier one of prophets. Then this is what quran says about martyrs and people killed without a crime. وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ ﴿۱۶۹ ﴾You must not think that those who were killed in the way of Allah are dead. But rather, they are alive with their Lord and have been provided for, (169) فَرِحِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ﴿۱۷۰﴾ rejoicing in the Bounty that Allah has given to them and having glad tidings in those who remain behind and have not joined them, for no fear shall be on them neither shall they sorrow, (170)

The Creed of Imam Tahawi, translated by Hamza Yusuf, is a good reference for sunni doctrine/creed. Pretty much all sunnis accept the text as authoritative. There's at least one commentary translated into English and a couple video lecture series on KZbin teaching the text.
