Happy Father's Day, Christian! And greetings from Helsinki. Lemme tell you in a nutshell, how I have spent time with you so far, eh? Perhaps it's my father's day gift to you. 1,5 years ago I finally managed to find a space in our cramped out flat, where I could start learning piano. Yes, of course first Imagine, and some Yann Tiersen. But soon after, I found your channel, and decided a training path, where I will follow you all the way learning blues piano. First months I was struggling hard with Beginner Blues Piano 1-7. I had dreamed of a first concertlike in the Halloween, but when it got cancelled, I got a massive drop in my motivation, and sacked my piano. Then, last may maybe, the renovation of the flat had gotten to the point where the piano moved under the window of my almost-ready-kid's-room. There, one morning the sun shone so brighly on the keys, that I found the inspiration once more. All summer I was practising (often a bit too) long hours, finishing the rest of Beginner Blues. And then, also waddled through Easy Blues Piano. During all this, I was finishing up my livingroom studio, and struggling extremely heavily with economic bullshit. But playing blues really helped me get over all the desperation and sometimes anger, even. Finally, when I got to the 3 boogie woogie videos in the end of Easy Blues Piano, I was mesmerized. I spent weeks only training boogie woogie along those videos. But still, after all this time spent with you, I couldn't remember what happened in the last video. Or, the video before. I was stuck with what I was just at the moment practising. So, I started again from Easy Blues Piano, video 1. The first impression was . . wtf, Christian? Why are you playing so slow??? I understood everything so much better. All the hubris had apparently vanished, and for the first time, I found myself on the piano bench, relaxed. I told my daughter a year ago, that I will practise piano so much, that - at least theoretically - I could be going on a gig after two years of practise. Now I understand how much of an effort it is, and for blues . . 2 years isn't just enough. Why am I talking all this bullshit? I found this video two weeks back, and soon I will try to make a video of myself performing it. To my teacher, you. Did I say it already? Happy Father's day. You are the best teacher I ever had.

Hi Christian, how come it seems that you know what songs I’m working on (or have on my list to work on next?) You must be psychic... not bloody kidding. Please don’t do Highly Strung (Spandau Ballet) as I’m working on it now haha 😉 Thanks again for another “non jazz, blues” tutorial. Love to you. Thanks. 😌

Yep, they seem to go together haha 😊 I think it may be working the other way and I'm psychically sending out messages to you for the songs that I like lol. Who knows... we are all connected. Have a good day. 😉
