I have been faking this for years by ear. Thank you so much for showing us how it is done properly!

This is the best money can buy . And it's for free . Together with "made in Germany" it's by far the rarest combination in the world. Thank you Christian and all the best from the Netherlands.

I bought this midi file off you this evening and it was brilliant, I’ve been trying to learn it. I’ve just looked at my watch !!!! It’s nearly 6am, oh my god, I’ve got to go to work in two hours and had no sleep 💤

Everybody who doesn't know the piece or just vaguely: I strongly recommend starting by listening to the slow version before learning in detail!

I took a break after a brief attempt with learning your lesson on Tipitina. On return, I find you went back for a few of us ... and did this slow motion break down. My reaction towards having some of New Orleans sound under my fingers was even more hopeful. Sure C Fuchs has that sense of rhythm and perfect pitch, so this was a generous offering to those striving to play or firming up sound players already. Thank You, Nate

I just listened to Fess' recording of this a couple times and slowed the playback speed to 50% and I can hear that he starts off the octave scale runs with 4 and then switches to playing them in 2's or 3', but even with the slowed down playback speed, it's still difficult to hear clearly exactly how he's playing it. Your version in 3 would be the easiest version to learn and gives the same sound and feel, but it's also worth mentioning that Fess uses a calypso style rhythm pattern in his playing and particularly in those runs and so, there is the challenge of learning the pattern and then learning to play it with the right tempo, rhythm and style to make it sound authentic. One thing I do notice though is that when Fess was playing Tipitina in the video, his playing is very fluent and he seems to switch very easily between all the different little tasty things he would add in to his playing. Great video indeed Christian and definitely a big thumbs up from me for one of my all time favourite songs.

Amazing! I have been wanting to learn Tipitina for so long now. I have tried from the Professor Longhair book of transcriptions, but so far, above my ability. Your clear instruction and suggestions give me hope once again. Thank you so much for all these lessons.

bharat sharma. I sensed that Christian was apprehensive that he should accommodate pupils at both ends of the spectrum, you at the top and me at the other end. He appesrs to have satisfied us both. Maybe we could hear you later? Jennifer.

Thanks for this lesson, I've only done the very basic right hand and left hand sections in the first 4 minutes of the lesson. Was having trouble getting smooth on the groove until I dropped out the crushed notes and the triplets...(I'll put them back later.)

Hola! It helped a lot, thanks. The best part is when you have to play sixteens but divided in 3 (two iin the left, one in right). It's as difficult as explain it writing in English, but you see... El que quiere puede, thanks again
