I was one of the most fortunate and blessed persons to have met Hans Poley several years ago. He and his wife stayed at our motel in Bryson City, NC in the mid-90's. Once he found out that I was teaching the Holocaust to middle school students in my county he made a visit to the classroom and spoke with my students about his experience as a resistance fighter. Very compelling and he also gifted me with the book he had written with the title: RETURN TO THE HIDING PLACE. These were wonderful Christian people and stood for the cause of support for the Jews during this atrocity.

I cried like a baby watching this. I'm almost 70 and have been a Christian for 52 years. I cried because of the bravery of God's followers. I have suffered abuse and persecution throughout my life, for my faith. I got to meet Corrie Ten Boom in the 70's in southern California at a Church giving her testimony which gave me hope. Nothing can separate us from the Love of God❤

Made your point but people like you need to stop assuming athiests are not and cannot be good people. Christianity and other religions have caused great division, conflict and millions of deaths for centuries. Plenty of dutch 'god's followers' were Nazi collaborators and the Netherlands had the largest Nazi party membership in Europe, after Germany.

As a young student in Berlin, early1970is, I had a brilliant Jewish math/physics Professor. A Holocaust survivor. His inaugural lecture to first semester student: If you believe in the supernatural or God, you are in the wrong place. We Jews prayed and prayed, begged and begged for help. All my family, and millions other died by the hand of the Nazis. Why did God not come to our rescue? Because there is no God! A truly remarkable man! I shall never forget him..... Shalom.

@@norbertschmitz3358 Where was the Messiah Yeshua during the Holocaust? If He was indeed the Messiah then why did evil run rampant and why didn’t He save His chosen people? These are questions that are difficult to answer, but there is one verse in the New Testament that helps us understand the relationship between Yeshua and His people. The verse is one of the shortest in the entire Bible and is as follows: “Jesus wept.” (John 11:35) He wept because of the death of His friend Lazarus and because He loved His fellow Jewish people! But, this is not the only occasion where Jesus wept for the Jewish people. In the Gospel of Luke, we read the following passage, “When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it.” (Luke 19:41) This time He wept because He knew that in the near future, the Romans would destroy the city of Jerusalem. The One whom so many of us believe is the promised Messiah of Israel loves His people. According to the New Testament, He will one day return to reign as King of Israel, destroy the enemies of the Jewish people, and judge those who tried to destroy the Jewish people throughout the centuries (Revelation 19:15, Zechariah 14:1-5). This might not answer the entire question as to why He allowed the suffering of the Holocaust. Jewish people have tried for decades to figure out where God was during the Holocaust. Again, we do not fully understand the reasons why the Lord allowed His chosen people to suffer, but we do know that He loves His people and those who persecuted the Jewish people will one day be held accountable before our Jewish Messianic judge. I live in Amsterdam now with my Husband who is Dutch. The older Aunts and Uncles of his family are the Children of the "Winter of Hunger." Most Dutch are rather tall people, but that generation was small and frail because of the lack of food. It is very easy to see the difference. They ate tulip bulbs just to live. Thank God for good hearts during dark times.

If there was a "Lord" atrocities like this would not happen. Jesus was real YES but thats about it as far as the LIES in the bible. Jesus was someone who stood up against the elite preaching how we should be living according to Universal Laws and was put to death as were many who went against their regime. However, The Bible was created by the Elite Jesuits for "control" and for creating false religions for divisions and wars and to hide the truth about who we are as a human race and Spirituality itself.

Antisemitism is rising up once again all over the world, and soon the evil ones will come after Christians, too! They're already calling us "terrorists"! It's all part of the deception in these last days. We need to try to share the Gospel while we can. Jesus said to expect persecution. It goes to show how evil human beings really are!

Be Strong and Brave. Do Not Be Afraid. ICB, Joshua 1:8, I do believe. The verse that took me on a new path since 2017. It’s an honor to be identified as one who loves God. We can’t lose. @Dusty Miller Wow! Are you the Olympic Equestrian Jumper Dusty Miller? Yes it would be very interesting if our Father's met up in Holland. Do you have that campaign re-cap book the men all got? We might be able to figure out from there? I found my Dads long after he had died in 1958, when Mom had passed in 1996, I was going through all these storage trunks downstairs. I found his army memorabilia I guess that is what to call it, with all these pictures of them on the tanks. Him and this crew skinny as anything washing in some Creek. TOP SECRET pictures of my Dad's plans to take down Mount Casino Italy. I'm sure I've spelled it wrong. Sorry. Pictures of them in North Africa in the tanks in what looks like snow? Also a pink kerchief that I guess all the young women came flooding into the streets to rejoice and welcome our boy's in Holland, our boy's were their saviours! Also a telegram asking my Dad to hold all action. We have a surrender. Fascinating to find all these pictures, his journal and telegraph, decades after he died and only days after Mom did. I don't know about your family but they never really talked about anything during the War. Sure surviving the harsh winter's and dry conditions in Saskatchewan during the depression. The trains loaded with thousands of people illegally riding them trying to find work, just Drifting... Anyway thanks for sharing Dusty! May they be Resting in Peace and Love now. 🕊💞🕯🇨🇦🙏 MUCH Later.... I get a rush down my entire body every time I read, then come back again later and read your comment again. Might be something to what you wrote about out Dads fighting together in Holland? I don't usually get full body rushes. And I've already finished menopause. Bwahahah! So we can rule that out. Anyway I thought it an interesting reaction and figured this time I read and felt the RUSH, I'd share it with you! No I'm not having a heart attack or stroke either! Hahaha!

@@katherinehunter9526 That's amazing. So sad to read he passed away too young. I had family who were trying to escape to Nazi's England via the the Netherlands but before then the country was invaded and ships could no longer leave. They were helped by the resistence too and hidden in seperate homes by righeous Christians as well. Christain girls/young women were bringing the children to their hiding places. They told me about the tremendous hunger during the last period in the northen part of the country. The south had already been freed. Until the end of their life they were talking about the chocolate and white bread they received after they were freed. Do you know they still commorate, honor and celebrate the Canadians and other liberators in the Netherlands every year ? To this day every year Canadian liberators are invited to those events. And youth is being tought an they also tend to the graves of the brave soldiers who gave their life to liberate the country. There is a lot of footage about that it on yt. On the 4 th of may it is a sombre day of remembrance, to honor all Nazi victims and allied soldiers who did not survive. The next day is a day of celebration, liberation day. I've been there once years with our family during that period. Very touching and impressive. There are happy events in the entire country and a huge concert at the end of the day in Amserdam, the King and Queen are always there, there is a video when they leave at the end of that day on a boat, when each year they all sing Vera Lynn's song We'll meet again. video titled: Bevrijdingsconcert op de Amstel 2018 "We'll meet again" But the partying by the Dutch then continues all night.

I grew up across the street from a Dutch couple that survived the war. The lady would tell me stories of her time during the war as a child and how her family hid Jews as well. One story she told me was of one of her cousins that was caught as the rest of them hid in the woods, and the Germans were toying with him until one of them shot the child on the spot, and she witnessed it all. I cannot even imagine the horror those people went through during that occupation. It must take supernatural courage and faith to take such a stand as many did in Europe, especially those that this story is based on.

I don’t know that it’s faith, it’s having moral courage. Nicholas Winton, a non-practicing Jew, saved 669 children. Irena Sendler, a non-practicing Catholic, saved 2,500 children. I’m a Christian who hasn’t been to worship for several years, but i use the crochet skills i learned in childhood (from my maternal grandmother, also Christian) to make scarves, lap afghans and shawls for the less fortunate. I live in the ‘burbs of Philadelphia, PA, and was told recently that those who have received my donations are very grateful. That’s a blessing to me.

I pray I can live my life to the fullest in God’s will so that if He ever calls on me to do something important, I would be ready. My grandmother had a best friend named Conchie. She was from Poland her entire family father a minister, wife and several children were all machine gunmed to death in front of the church because they were caught hiding Jews. Only Conchie lived because she was 16 and could interpret for I believe it was four to five different languages and of course became a slave for the Nazis. What they did to her she never really spoke of except to my grandmother. She died when I was around 11 but I sure remember her vividly. Unfortunately she was an alcoholic but she had a big laugh you never knew she was a broken person. She never married because she knew she could never have children she had been torn up inside because of the Nazis. She was afraid she would frighten whoever she was married to because she woke up screaming whenever she allowed herself to sleep. My grandmother told me these things after I the Corrie Ten Boom organization came through my Church. The Hiding Place the movie had just come out and we watched it I went home and talked to my grandmother about it. She told me about Conchie's life and how hard it had been simply because her father and mother and all of them even Conchie had agreed that it was wrong to send the Jews to the concentration camps or deportation and had tried to save them from the Nazis. There are so many unspoken Heroes. So many who died that could not be recorded. When we buried my grandmother I found out my darling grandmother had had her dear friend who died so many years before her waiting next to her. So Conchie would not spend her resting place alone unknown.

@Adam-zn9yh I'm a Conservative Christian (Baptist) and I know God is in charge but to allow Jew haters to kill Jews and others like Hitler did in WW2 and what Hamas did on October 7, 2023, doesn't make sense to me. They died horrible deaths. I heard God is a loving God my whole life. He can stop the evil among us. I have also heard my whole life that God gives us free will. What, to kill innocent people? I also read in my Bible to turn the other cheek. I will not! If I offend any of my brothers & sisters, please accept my apologies but this is how I think. I have gone through horrible things, and I have seen horrible things. This is why I am an outspoken person and why I fight what is wrong in our world. I also loathe people who hurt animals.
