The recovery years were trying, exhausting & beyond taxing! At times scary, our best dog poisoned etc! But I got the meth house closed, prosecutions happened & the babies got saved! Much recovery happened in the first year, though still in visits with abusers for a few years. They are now adults & planning their weddings & futures! It took all of me, & probably took years off my life! I would do it all again in a heart beat! Some of the adults even ended up in recovery!

This film should be required for all high school students along with so many other films!!!! This is something I wasn't aware of when the war ended as this wasn't brought up in school or any of the books that I had read about the Holocaust. For kids and adults to have suffered through the Holocaust and then to suffer the agony, heartache, torture, beatings, physical and verbal abuse, starvation, lack of employment, housing, food, etc after the war is horrendous!!!!The ignorance of the Holocaust to this day is astounding and extremely frightening😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Inspiring movie of a woman who gave what she could and didn't let others opinions interfere with her conviction. Is this type of insight missing in today's world? I think giving to others that have less and are disadvantaged is the only way we can make the harshness of the past bearable. But it doesn't mean we overlook the tragedy of the Holocaust and those who were victimized by ruthless and self-serving men and women all of whom were criminals acting out their hateful prejudices.

It is just unreal & ya, after WW2 you figured things calmed down, but no, they dealt w “collaborators”, AKA people trying to adapt & survive, the random raping that went on & switch gears to the Batan Death March, 50-60 miles & if u stopped for water, you were killed, it simply BLOWS my mind & there are so many layers to it, how bout the kids born of German rapes, I’ll bet their lives were impacted from Day 1, you couldn’t make this up in Hollywood, but it happened 75 years ago (seems like I used to say 40-50) haha

To be fired upon for just trying to survive because of hatred and prejudice is appalling .bless this womans precious soul and others who assisted in delivering these innocent children to a better and safer life they deserved. Its shocking that this could even happen in our History, but it did. Struck me that growing up in the 60s-70s all the jokes & disparaging comments & racism was strongly projected at the Polish! I never got it, why were they so bad & stupid that it took so many to screw in a light bulb! Lol Propaganda, regardless of race or creed! Was telling my grandaughter, blonde with darker skin, when friends at school discussed her coloring, that were need to learn more about her maternal lineage! Her Mom is 50% Cuban. Beautiful young Iady, but was adopted & knows only a little about birth parents, & heritage! My grandson is the spitting image of her biological Dad & I was blessed to get pictures with them both when he was an infant! The grandfather cried when I asked if I could have a picture of them! ❤ He wasn't able to parent his numerous kids, but he clearly cared! Always wanted to chat with him more! He & others like him could easily warn us about current events in major nations at the moment! GOD BLESS ALL who stand for FREEDOM & especially the innocent!

A lot of unimaginable cruelty, but with some rays of true kindness shining through. Linda Carter is a beautiful woman and a very talented actress. During that time one of our ministers and two other of our friends survived the Bataan death march. My nephew’s wife uncle was one of the other men. His younger brother had been drafted into the army. However, since he had a family and the older brother wasn’t married, the older brother took his place. A beautiful picture and example of brotherly love. 👨👦👨👦Two of our sister ministers were also, executed by the Communist Nazis.

Correction. Linda Lavin, not Linda Carter. I didn’t really think that looked like Wonder Woman. However, the comment applies to Linda Lavin also. Beautiful and talented.
