Yes Vin, it's entirely possible to be educated in the bible and not believe/like it. I was raised in a Christian home, my parents were pastors. I went to Boston College (a catholic university) where I studied Theology to supplement my degree in history. I make it a point to read the bible cover to cover, as well as pseudopigraphical texts a couple times a year, and after all that I'm still a satanist. There have been many studies that conclude that atheists/agnostics are the most educated on the subject of religion, Jews are second, Christians are last. There is an old adage atheists use, "when you have the bible read to you, you become a Christian. When you read it yourself you become and atheist" haha

Behemoth is from Poland and all that analysis you make is a common knowledge here, since we are forced in primary school to learn religion. Every kid in school knows "Skład Apostolski" (Apostles' Creed) and can recite it at any moment. We know Bible very well, we know history of religion very well, we must to, we are forced to. I can see a lot of references to religion in Poland in Behemots art that can be hard to understand for other people, but for us is just a common knowledge. Nergals voice is a rebelious voice that is needed in such indoctrinated by catholism country like Poland.

First of all, I apreciate your video's. From my own experience I can say deconversion does not have to come out of any personal hurt or disappointment. For me it was a growing recognision of the difference in things I said and thought I believed, and what I actually believed . This growing realisation of cognitive dissonance is what, after a long period of struggling with it, lead me to eventually stop believing. After tackling many area's of cognitive dissonance I struggled with and abandoning them one by one. What I was left with was the humanistic values present in some parts of the bible which I still value to this day. What I in the end valued most had nothing to do with a higher power but how we as people treat eachother.

Have fun but be careful on the show sorvins. I mean, with people moving/moshing, pretty dangerous in this state. So the front rows might be a place to stay away from. In the back it's usually more clam. So it's the safest place for sori. But you have vin to serve a shield, sori, so it will be fine.

I remember by 7yrs old growing up in a Catholic school already having memorised the Apostles Creed. I think growing up specifically Catholic like he did in Poland, gives you a very good insight and understanding as to where he's coming from. In fact every mention of being seated at the left hand of Satan etc; reminds me of learning to write (I'm left handed) and my Catholic teacher hitting my knuckles every time I tried to use my left hand. Getting detention and having to recite the Apostles Creed, the Stations of the Cross, kneel for 45 minutes during lunch time on the hard wood kneeling benches in the Catholic church attached to our school. On top of all that I was constantly told I was choosing to allow Satan through me and being evil etc. This was all ages 5-10 but also in the mid 90s where corporal punishment was banned in Australia but it happened anyway We also learned almost immediately, 5 years old about the gore of the crucifixion in extreme detail I understand when people come from that kind of Catholic upbringing easily produces a rebellion towards Christianity and we know Poland is quite extreme with the church having a very heavy hand in government.

I’m french I can help your pronounciation : messe exactly pronounce like English word mess. A little of history of English would allow you to understand that many English words are originating in Old French. When they were add to English, the French words were almost all cut from their last « e ». I also remark that American people always pronounce the final « e » with it’s alphabetical sound instead muting it. Britannic people mute it maybe because they live closer to French people. :) However, on the meaning you are right : it means Black mess.

I was born and raised in a Christian faith and when I realized I no longer believed any of it, it was not because I wanted to lose my faith, but I had to. I couldn't keep telling myself the lies and the inconsistencies that came with it. When you are born and raised with it and you are a person who can go deep then it is a huge deal to break away from that and it can take years even decades. I also wrote a song when I was in a band called "Heaven's Coming Down" that was about my personal break with god and the enormous work it took to free myself from the shackles of a childhood of indoctrination and fear of the dark. I had to learn to love the dark to come at peace with myself. But it really can be a huge thing and it can feel like you need to stand up and face this god that hovered over your life like judge and executioner like the sword of Damocles. That may sound very over the top perhaps but that's how it felt to me as well. So no, I do not believe in the existence of a god, particularly the Abrahamic one, but he was a huge part of the first 25 years of my life. The saying you can take the child out of the war but you can't take the war out of the child rings very true for me in that sense. I could take myself out of religion but it was very very hard to take the religion out of me, even after I realized it wasn't something I couldn't believe in or stand for any longer. So my song "Heaven's Coming Down" starts with the line: A single soul stronger than fate, bringing down heaven's gate. It's because breaking with religion when you grew up in it and were deep into it, is massive. It's like you're changing the fate and defying a god to stand of for yourself. To no longer be usurped by this invisible force that is watching you wherever you go. It's massive to do this when you were born into it and were into it deeply. So please Vin, understand it can really be like that when you stop believing. It's a terrible thing to have to do and it does feel like you have to stand up to god as if he was real because that's the only way to deal with the trauma and move on. I believed passionately growing up and learning that it wasn't right was like losing my life. It was a traumatic loss and it comes with anger but also pain and sadness. And it can really run deep. It's why I think music like this can be so powerful.

I appreciate your opinion. There's many things I don't understand. And many things I have been through mentally that has made me feel very rejected. And at times even threatened. I will never be a christian. And although I relate to the aspect of pain that flows through behemoth as a band. I will never be a satanist either. To be a seeker within my own mind and to continue to seek condemns me to hell. According to scripture. And to embrace my bravery and who I truly am has not brought peace into my life. But I will continue to seek peace until the end.

Keep it up vin and sori I like watching y’all, I was a devout Christian at one point myself. Interesting video and excellent talk. While you were talking Vin, I remembered the parable "He who did not spare his companion" (Matthew 18, 23-35). And take carefully what I say! I am not the best example of Christian, my faith for years is like a small insect that walks itself (or rather, I am the insect). Have a good day Vin and Sori... ...Hail to The Village!!

I was once a religious person? I was raised Catholic? I converted to the Christian church? Which, was the worst thing in my life? The church turned its back on me? I turned my back on that church also? Now I worship Lucifer and I have no regrets? First time in my life I know what freedom really is?

don't sweat the concert, Sori. I still get the same anxiousness sometimes. Idk what it is. But I've seen Behemoth and it was fantastic and immersive. Guys. Hear me out. I don't care if it's at the bottom of 1000 other requests you get everyday, so long as it makes the list. But listen to *THANTIFAXATH* - The Bright White Nothing At The End Of The Tunnel (band is pronounced than-tee-fax-ath lol)

There are lots of people who only get the surface-level, shock value aspects of stuff like this, and this will only increase with their popularity. But there are plenty that know. They tend not to make themselves known, generally speaking, as outing yourself doesn't tend to lead to positive things. Occultists can also be very elitist and get cross with people who speak openly about these types of things.
