You poor innocent dope! Read up on the story before making idiot posts like this. The musicians on the backing track are the Tremeloes, and only Jeff Christie singing after the tremeloes decided not to release it with their singer on it. There is also piano which must have been an overdub if not an extra session musician. They gave it to the drummer's brother to release and a band was created around him and Jeff the songwriter and singer to mime on the TV and in the video. That's why they took Jeff's surname for the band! Only their less successful followups were recorded by the band you see in the pictures

I first bought this song on a 45. Wore it out and bought another one. Now I have it digitally and never get tired of listening to it. Man I wish they wrote good songs like this today!

Man I haven't heard this in what --30+ years!? And I still remember some of the lyrics! It was a favorite of mine on the AM radio as a kid.

I was 8 then. We've had the best of the two worlds: the actual songs and musicians then and technologies to continue watching them today. Love and Good Music to dveryone forever😍

I was only 2 and half years old in the summer of 1970. Maybe they played this song very often in the following summers as well. But I remember very well, and still love so much, this song.

This was part of the soundtrack for my honeymoon in late 1970. Due to a dispute between recorded companies and radio stations, only a few imported recorded were being played, and played they were. This was one. It has memories for me...

Christie had one of the best songs of the early seventies with this ... Yellow River was brilliant.
