The only thing I think of when I see this and "Genie in a Bottle" is...whoever was behind Christina's whole debut...knew EXACTLY what they were doing. Image-wise, musically, song-wise etc. And vocally, she was just a bombshell. You just had to be there in 1999, but I'm telling you....I think her first two singles solidified her as basically a legendary pop singer. It was so SPECIFIC, and exactly...right. After this song, people knew and would never forget who she was. She was in the zeitgeist of pop culture after this.
