Yes. That’s what I was always taught too. That, and if you leave candles burning for a certain amount of time (depending on size) thereafter the candle will last longer.

Ribbon is just such a great tree decoration! I've got a giant spool of 3 inch wide velvet ribbon in this gorgeous claret red and we drape that round our tree every year instead of tinsel and it looks like something out of a Victorian novel it's gorgeous.

This was just gorgeous! Thank you for taking that white ribbon off the tree. I've seen so many KZbinrs using white ribbon as garland and it always screams toilet paper. The candle trick was amazing! I'm definitely going to try that diy. Even though you're not burning the candles, at least light the wick, let it burn and blow it out. All candles on display should have the wick burned. I hope you live in this space for a long time. It's the perfect home! Merry Christmas!

I do an early 'gift'box thing early, too. The boxes look so good under the tree, etc.. I use $5 boxes of chocolates, simple bath sets, etc so I can offer to various ppl. The bath sets can be color-coded for males and females. The chocolates, u can have someone open and share....also a few pints of Barbarosa rum for impromptu egg nog, sparkling wine, spiced nuts, I may even add a box of cookies.

Everything is awesome! I was gonna share that I don't use garland on my tree, but I use a ribbon as garland. I had a purple fuzzy one for almost 20 years, then I found some at JoAnn's that have music notes and it works so much better as we are a musical house😁

Your tree is beautiful. One tip, check each section to make sure all the lights work properly before you do any decorations, I got my entire tree up, decorated and was sitting on my couch and noticed that the bottom wasn't completely lit up. One entire bottom branch isn't working and it's a pain to try to figure out where the problem is with all the decorations in the way.
