Merry Christmas Video idea- 24 hours where you have to make everything from scratch - so if you had beans on toast you would make the bread and make the beans in a tomato sauce or if you wanted peanut butter you would have to make it from scratch etc etc You do do a lot of this already so I don’t think it would be too difficult for you ❤️❤️

Families are often sooo dysfunctional and you begin to feel like NOBODY has the perfect family Christmas we're all supposed to be having.... Yes agree about the ham and pick! We do it on Boxing Day with jacket potatoes, salad, cheese, leftover turkey, pigs in blankets and a Christmas ham! It’s my favourite meal of the year which I had to make for the first time this year but I still loved it

I love Smitten Kitchen! That shortbread base can be used for a bunch of flavor varieties. I’ll also put the dough into a gallon plastic ziplock bag and roll it flat and freeze it. Then cut the bag off and slice the dough into squares before baking. It’s perfect to make multiple flavors and freeze them flat.

Just a message to your parents from me - a little (unwanted) advice - now that my daughters are married, we decided early on to reserve all of Christmas Day for their in-laws and nieces and nephews while I spend my Christmas Eve and Boxing Day with them. My Dad always made me feel so guilty because each year we alternated our holidays and he hated the years we weren't there. I knew I wanted to stop this with my children and I'm really happy with our solution. This year is all virtual of course due to the pandemic. The way you're so excited...i just want to celebrate eid back!!! We celebrated in May, the first major lockdown...on eid we supposed to visit out friends' and family's houses...so it's obviously VERY different in May...on the day before eid we make Rendang takes sometime to mix it and weave the leaves for our compact rice (Ketupat) and cook in the night...on eid i was always so excited to wake up to have some Rendang and ketupat 😭😭😭
