Thanks Mick, I do not keep Oncidium as a rule but I make an exception for the twinkles and their parents, that said sotoanum is a real pain in the posterior when it comes to root growth. Drives me round the bend, mounting the twinkles with poor root growth did the trick though. Inca Prince is an awesome hybrid and another of those I will not tire of for sure. Lovely Dendrobium blooms. I have a Dendrobium Formidable I have managed to get to bloom once. The new canes are big and thick, twice the size of the one that bloomed. The plant is healthy, just can't get it to blooms. ☹ Love the moniliforme. Have a happy holiday.

BPS have already cancelled their annual weekend meeting on the 22nd January, lord knows what will happen. Good luck with the Orchid removal after Xmas.

Yes David, although they currently do not need any help at the moment, it is so damp I do not even need to water them.

I hate mealybugs but I hate scale more. Someone bought me a plant for Christmas and it was infested with scale. In a matter of three days, all of the leaves on every growth except the newest one turned yellow and fell off, even though I treated it when I received it, the damage had already been done with them sucking away at the leaf axils. Hope you do have a nice Christmas, Omicron is certainly making a mess of things.

Agree I hate scale more, it is the sole reason I will not grow cattleya’s they are scale magnets for sure. That sucks especially as it was a present and you just know other people will be in the same boat as yourselves as well. It sounds as though it is not salvageable . Christmas wishes to you and your family and hope you too stay safe over there. It is actually quite ridiculous over here with daily confirmed cases now higher than at any time since the first pandemic. The problems soon will be there are not enough staff to work and we wont need a lockdown as the shops etc will be closed because there is no one to run them. Just crazy - never seen the like of it before.
