Hi C K, depends on the insect but horticultural need oil or a mix of insecticidal soap or even a good bio kitchen liquid soap and water will deter most pests. You can even just spray some with a strong nozzle and they'll go flying, just need to make sure they're not also in the soil.

This plant has an intimidating name in my native language, we call it "the scorpion" because the leave segments look like a scorpion's stinger 😆 A bit unrelated but do you intend to continue releasing some gardening ASMR videos? Because I really love them 🖤

I have just received this plant as a gift, so this video is perfect! Although the soil of my plant started to develop a white cover and all the flowers dropped! Do you know what could have caused that?

Hi Eli, glad the video helped! The white cover is mould that happens alot on houseplants and it's normally not a problem, just scrap it away and you can spray the top of the soil with hydrogen peroxide 3% and water mix and that should kill any fungus. The flowers may have dropped if it wasn't watered properly, they can also get a shock when moved from one environment to another. I wouldn't worry about it though they should bloom next year 🌷

Do you water with cold or warm water? From the bottom or top?

I use luke warm water to replicate their natural habitat. I actually normally water from above although some water from underneath and let the whole soil get moist, dry out and then repeat. Above has always worked for me. In winter water sparingly, particularly after flowering which is when they have a rest.

That looks like a Thanksgiving cactus and not a Christmas cactus.
