Im in my 80s. Take it from an old woman. All the gifts i have received in my long life, few of them i remember. But oh my, i remember the memories. The laughter, the feelings, the sights, smells, and sounds. Presents fade away with time, but memories will stay with you forever.

Our Aunt used to make a family gift of popping corn and a movie. Still a memory. She never had a lot of money, but she made a wonderful memory for all of us.

That's a great memory. ❤️💚 My great aunt used to make popcorn balls every Halloween. Sometimes she would throw in an orange or an apple. I would always eat the chocolate candy first, but oh, how I wish I had one of her popcorn balls now.

I always had my grandmother crochet a doily for me. Sometimes she would embroidery pillowcases for me. At 73 i still hav them all. Ive also had people apoligize that they didnt hav much money to spend and.i always tell them i dont care if it was free i love it ( the thought , seriously)

There were times many people couldn't afford anything for the holidays but they enjoyed the time they had together and the memories and those tend to be the ones we look back on with happiness. Our society has been able to afford material things for a long time and the emphasis was buying the most expensive thing you can find.

I've always taught my daughter that it isn't the amount of money in a gift. It's the thought along w how you give it. Great suggestions !! 🎄

When I was in a girls school a zillion years ago. Those with long hair would drape their hair on the ironing board and iron it . I was one of them lol

Great ideas! I like to crochet potholders. The hot cocoa bombs and a mug make a great gift! Love the oven mitt and tool ideas...my grandkids would love that. Also dollar tree has the mini Uno flip card game...that's a winner! My littlest grandson is getting play dough, he played about an hour with some recently. Personally I would love the hot cocoa bombs and I need new mugs. 😮 I was just there and bought the tiny cutting board. That would look great with homemade treats or make a meat and cheese tray...then wrap it with pretty cellophane or gift wrap.

My favorite gift for little kids in our family is strawberry jam! During good years, it’s homemade, other years, it’s store-bought. I always attach a note that the jam is theirs and they “ don’t even have to share.” 😂😂. Another thing I used to do for my mom was to give her a coupon book for things like, “lunch out, a drive on a rainy day, a trip to the hairdresser, etc.) she treasured the book every year!). A coupon book for babysitting date nights for the younger couples in the family is always appreciated, too!
