I actually thrive more in the winter, and I get more depressed in the summer! Winter to me is cozy, slow, and I love when we can just stay inside and craft or watch movies, or read books. Summer for me is so chaotic and bright and over stimulating. I wonder if there's a diagnosable summer seasonal depression.

I thrive from October -February. Spring brings on allergies and Summer heat almost kills me. Why anyone would want to live down South, I’ll never understand. It’s no big deal to shovel snow a few times. What’s the difference between being holed up at home because it’s too hot to go out OR being cozy at home when it’s really cold? I always say “You can bundle up for the cold, but there is only so much you can TAKE OFF without getting arrested.”

Your beautiful home all decorated for the holidays has brought me such happiness and inspiration. My husband and I bought our first home on November 30th of last year, and so although I did decorate for Christmas, I wasn’t able to take my time and add the DIY, cherished decorations that I longed to create and place throughout my home. This year, I am finally, for the first time in my life, able to decorate each and every room with lovely things and to have several trees all throughout my space. I love, LOVE everything you have done and I am now even more motivated to finish decorating. Today I am going to make the garlands for my mantle and for over all of my doorways, and to make my house truly feel like home for the first time in my adult life. Thanks for inviting me into your beautiful home. It has the perfect balance of vintage and natural decor. I'm decorating with natural items this year: greenery, dried oranges, antlers, furs, pinecones and buckeye nuts. We only put up one very narrow and tall tree. All the kids and grands will be home for Christmas and there just isn't room for anything bigger.
