Hi Amy. As a trainer and fitness business owner, I think the best thing you can say, and have said, is keep it simple. Eat less and move more. Right there you put your body in a calorie deficit and science proves you will lose weight. Start out simple. Take a walk. Skip the dessert. Eat an apple instead of a sugary dessert. I think people look for a quick, all or nothing, approach and that's what gets them into trouble. It looks like "wow, she lost weight so quick!" but it was consistent focus on the goal and not letting a lot of excuses get in the way. I've worked with a lot of people and the ones who lose the weight, but more importantly, keep it off, are the ones who make life changes and that includes myself. I had to start thinking about when/what I was eating and let some other things go. If it's time for me to eat, I stop and eat. It's took me a long time to say "no" to someone or to say, " I have to eat so give me 5 minutes and I'll be right with you" You have to be willing to do the work for the long haul. And if you miss a day of exercise, or eat too much at a meal, it's not the end of the world. Just get back to it the next day.

Another way to sweeten oatmeal is to add vanilla extract. Cinnamon with peaches or bananas along with the vanilla is amazing!

You are a inspiration. I shop at Aldis all the time. I saw items i have never seen. Some of your items i know well. But for me i have to watch my sodium bc of heart failure and i also have to be careful to watch my potassium. These 2 things are not easy. I can always adapt recipes to suit me . I never salt anything so i have to relie on other spices. Mrs. Dash is my best friend. Always looking for ideas.

I’ve been strength training for almost 2 years & am still lacking muscle definition. Hi Amy -- Just wanted to say thank you for this video. Found it very informative and decided to give Aldi another try. Went today and got the protein wraps, the Tzatziki, organic turkey breast, mini cukes, fresh greens and some feta cheese, made myself a wrap and couldn't be happier with my lunch. Don't be too hard on yourself. At 61 myself my Dr. told me we go through physical changes after we hit our 30's, 40's,50 and 60's. Keep active and eating healthier is a great start to feeling and being your best you. Hugs and encouragement sent to you.

Amy a trick I learned when you par boil fresh cauliflower to roast throw in half a lemon par boil about 8 minutes then roast in a dish. Cheese garlic seasoning of choice. Let it brown some. It's amazing. Also I use radishes in place of potatoes in a beef roast. The family thinks it's red potatoes 😊

We love shopping at Aldi. Try the organic multi grain tortilla chips. They are really good. I lost 50 pounds last year and I’ve gained back 10 through the holidays. I’ve started working on getting that off plus need to lose more. I have to watch salt intake and carbs. I commend you for losing the weight and getting healthy. Wish I had taken better care of myself when I was younger. Good luck on your run.

Also...l need suggestions for what to plant in front if my front porch. We got new siding & windows in 2020. Took out old landscaping. Put in 5 hydrangeas at end of 2021. They were beautiful that year, but lost 2 last year & hubby said is tired of constantly trying to keep them "happy." North side of house. Southern Illinois. I find you encouraging like an angel on my journey right now with some health goals I have and fitness staying motivated and upping my nutrition ! Thank you! 🙏🏻 😊 I feel so much better seeing someone else like a late night snack too hehe I don’t do it every night either but sometimes I just like to!:) thanks for sharing these videos also with foodie lifestyle grocery hauls and cooking! It helps encourage me also as I slightly adjust my meals lately to higher protein veggies and very low carb for 30lb-35lb weight loss goal by summer:) & I love fitness also so I’m mainly adjusting my meals a bit to be better ratio to reach my goals!:) these videos help me also stay encouraged seeing you already met your goals and are on strength training phase and next level! 😄🩷☀️💕💫
