Lynette, there were so many beautiful things in this video! Watching the kids play, watching the boys hang with you in the bathroom getting ready, watching you with your family at dinner, seeing you with your mom and then your dad too, the food and scenery at the restaurant, the tile and entire laundry room, Oaklynn and Harper helping you cook, the bread... your video really hit a note with me today that has me so happy for you and your family! Mine is going through some rough things currently so seeing all of this really gave me hope and reminded me that I can make beauty even through the mess I'm going through currently! I had to laugh at you serving your food in the same pan you made it. When I was first married (59) years ago my husband said you put the food in serving bowls. So as a good wife I did for almost 58 years. I now put the pan on the table. He does the cleanup. Should have tried this years ago before we both retired. Love your videos. Happy New year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to your precious family..I am not familiar with Menonite traditions..it puzzled me a bit that the ladies and girls wear dresses and skirts with little leggings..but no shorts or swimwear..but the families living in warm weather areas the men wear t-shirts and shorts..is the dress code more relaxed for the men then women in warm weather states than for the ladies...Also your home decorating is absolutely beautiful..the recipes you use and cook are great also..even budget friendly for small or large families..I found your channel by accident..but after watching you preparing for Christmas and family with the uplifting music I subscribed...thank you for sharing your blessed life ..❤from a Indiana girl living on the Virginia Tennessee line now..

Thanks for joining! I actually didn’t show us ladies at the beach 😉 but we do wear shorts and swimwear. It’ll vary from person to person though. I wear more modest tankini style tops or shorts/ skirts. So Here are some thoughts I have. Hopefully it helps! As far as otherwise - I choose to wear knee length or longer skirts. I like to dress more femininely and don’t want to wear pants in public. My sisters attend churches where they still make their dresses for the most part - so they don’t wear skirts like I do. I choose to dress more modestly and I also don’t find it a problem if the men wear shorts personally. Pants on men have pretty much stayed the same for years and years. Where as women’s attire has changed enormously. The norm isn’t dresses and modesty anymore. 😏 So for me personally - I feel like I haven’t changed as much as a lot of the western world has in terms of clothing. but usually we get looked at as strange. 😅 I don’t mind though. It’s a personal preference and everyone is different- and should decide what they feel is right for themselves. So I’m not pushing my convictions on others 😊

Love watching Oaklynn help in the kitchen. She isa good helper. Hope Harper feels better. I love her personality. It would be lovely if more moms and dads would have time to share their skills with the children. My mom taught me to cook and bake like her mom and her mom’s mom. I teach my granddaughter how to cook and bake so know the value of passing along the skills. Hoping you and your family have a stress free and gentle celebration of the birth of the Christ child.

I keep forgetting to mention this to you ! I think your a bit like me, music wise, although i love everything, accept not into rap, hard head banging music lol My favorite totally is old country thanks to my dad, and then mother hooked me on to 60s music, while my baby sitters would invite their close friends over,ove furniture and show us the 70s dance music, that was cool as well. But in the last 15 years or so i do find myself listening to more gospel, inspiration music . However when i was a kid, our Christmas started around the second week of Dec. My mom would by different albums , cassette tapes and when the world hit dvds , she made my dad get a new sytem that did it all. Every day was a surprise because it held 45 cds and it never turned off unless someone ( typically mom ) would turn it off. Ok long story, i digress and move on. So this one year i was maybe 16 , she gets a new Christmas cd , at first i was like oh crap another one lol . But the more i listeded the more i actually loved it every year. In fact so much, i bought one when i moved to texas , so i could destroy my husbands ears . It was by roger whittaker . It homeatly has to be one of the most beautiful cds or records that i could have . Honestly a couple of the songs i cry a little bit listening to. Not just because they are truthful, but they are beautiful. Not sure if the boys would enjoy this, but i can see both your daughters listening to it now akd every year, and some day they can no longer listen to you, like my mom who passed last year, and like me, will want to have their own music , like their mother, and start playing it like i do now, around dec . Hope you have a merry Christmas and every one enjoys the days !
