When you Google the price of Christmas lights installation home advisor says the average cost for professional installation of Christmas lights is between $1.25 per foot to $3.00 per foot. I imagine sites like these cause headaches for business owners.😩

That's just for installation of putting them up. You also charge for taking them down. And the price goes up further if you have to supply the lights. Still at $8 a foot, that's pretty high but I'm just now looking into it and learning

Interested to know that, if the pricing model includes the lights, does that make the repeat years more profitable, if keeping lights to re use for that customer or does the price then allow for storage of the lights instead of supply. Interested to know how this side is broken down profitably.

I started at $3-$4 for residential and $6-$8 for commercial. After 10 homes/businesses I have passed what I put in materials. I did this to start my business and help promote it for next year. I think it also depends on where you live. Can’t wait for next year! Happy Holidays everybody🤘🏻

I charge $4.50/ft and have more than double profit margin. I’m struggling to understand how that isn’t profitable for you? It then drops to $2.50/ft for installation each year after ($2.50/ft for installation and $2/ft for purchase of the lights). I’m 21 years old and did $50k in profit last year for Christmas lights alone. I’m truly just interested in why you are so passionate about not charging my prices? What are your hourly wages for your employees?

$4.50/ft? Don't tell me you are providing Home Depot incadescent lighting to your customers? Those are the cheapest lights to my knowledge. LED bulbs at a minimum are about $1. That leaves you w/ $3.50 for light string, jumps, male/female connectors and clips. Not to mention fuel and labor.

Thank you for your videos! I am curious. I added lights few years ago mainly as a way to keep my lawn maintenance guys employed year round but lighting side has now grown . My model was to sell the customers the lights the first year and charge labor for rehangs. We have done OK but hate to think about the amount of money I may be leaving on the table after looking around on the net. Just curious but when you guys get $6-$8/foot a foot for c7s, is that first year or for rehangs? Thanks in advance!

So, do you charge to buy the lights for the customer, or is that included in you price ? Do the customers keep the lights or do you keep them till next season? Also I was wondering for the 1000' line of C9 stringers with 12" spacing can I cut those to length and make my own cut to length C9 stringers? Love the videos. Thanks for taking your time to make these for people like me who are curious.

All watchers, replace his word "Profitable" and "Successful" with the word Greedy. Because he's absolutely lying about the cost. Out of that $600 and $800 example, he's claimed the cost is more than $300 magically more than $400. That's Insanely inflated.

So not sure what part of the country your in but I think that has a lot to do with your prices. I have been having for 15 years with just myself and a few helpers. I have always been profitable. My price is around 2.15 for LED materials. My labor charge is per hr on the job. And I do 0 marketing. I have a website and that’s about it. I usually can’t do all the business I get. I have to turn people down. I am not trying to attack you by the way. I am honestly curious how you do it? Please let me know.

@@ChristmasLightsCommunity so right now I have about 300+ clients. With a 98% return rate from year to year. Average price per house. Maybe 350. Average amount of lights on the house. 175-225. And for the last 10 years. Average 50k profit. After all my pay outs. Mind you this is not my full time gig. I have another full time job. So this is a seasonal business that I make more than 1/2 my annual salary in 3 months. And I have seen as you increase prices people get pissed and your name gets trashed on social media. Next thing ya know your clients are gone. But if you price it fair. They market for you. May name an number is blasted all over Facebook. Next door. And every other place. So I never have to advertise. Those people that I have treated fairly are my champions and fight for me. I still get customer that ask for quotes and say I am way to expensive. I am also fully insured and do commercial jobs as well.
@jetman4774
@jetman4774 4 жыл бұрын
@Fau Q no, thats the average feet of lights on a house. Lots of homes here are zero lot lines. They are stacked next to each other. So we do just the front of the house. The average price per house for labor is $350. The first year I have a new customer their bill is higher because I sell them the product +labor on the first year. And then I charge them a labor price every year to put it up. If they add lights at any point then that cost is billed at that time. And I have a markup on the products i sell. So I make a small profit on the sell of lights. And then make straight profit on the labor.

Micah When people say they don’t spend money on marketing this is what I think. You start firing your low paying customers and you start doing marketing and you get a higher paying customers in our return rate is still 85% also. But our average customer is paying $1800 every year. That’s called you put up Christmas lights and you don’t have to have another full-time job
