You know I'm sorry to say this but Gabby doesn't know everything about horses and when people are trying to give you advice like for example those rubber boots that will help your horses you should put your foot down and say no we're getting these and we are going to put them on our horses just my advice you should just do it because overall you want your horses to be healthy you want to take care of your horses love them but also make sure they don't get hurt and if those boots are going to prevent your horses from getting hurt I say go for it and not every horses used to rubber boots and sometimes depending on what kind of material the boots are made of and if they're too tight can rub your horse it can cause sores but also if you get two big ones that are loose they will come off I'm just trying to say you shouldn't say no to something until you try it out and see if it works for you and your animals

Laura when I first got my horse I needed a cheap saddle that could basically do everything. So I found an 18 inch all purpose saddle from stateline tack and it was only around $120. It was a great buy and it feels amazing, I highly recommend that saddle, it also comes with stirrup leathers a girth and stirrups. I don’t use that saddle anymore because with have a newer one however I highly recommend it if you want a big saddle. It’s an all purpose English saddle but I know you wanted a western or Australian stock saddle.

@melbowell56014 жыл бұрын
Well done Laura, as I’ve said before I think you’re hands are ok, it’s just the consistency and you’re right, you do want to maintain a light contact ( as long as your hands are steady) and yours are 👍You’re also right that slowing a horse doesn’t just involve the reins, but your seat, body and legs too. You can’t put you’re hands too far back in the western saddle due to the horn, so again, you don’t want your hands in your crotch, but you also don’t want them half way up the horses neck either 😊 One tip is to keep your fingers closed around the reins, that doesn’t mean a death grip lol, but you tend to open your fingers and just my opinion, but I think that adds to you problems potentially in terms of steering and brakes 😊 I did think she looked a bit off, but I’m not used to gaited horses, although I would have thought there pace should still be even on all legs ( if that makes sense). I know I’ve asked before and you haven’t mentioned it, but when are you going to get the vet out to give her a good check up? Even if there are a few issues it doesn’t necessarily mean she wouldn’t be suitable, however in my view, better to know what your dealing with so that you can make any adjustments or get her treated accordingly. I really hope she’s ok though and will be for your trail ride 😊👍🤞

Your hands were so much better this ride Laura!! that's why you have breaks now she's listening when you do ask, because your asks are so much more clear and effective, yes tightening your core and sitting back and up helps with stopping, I have a tendency to over tense and bend my ankle and feet, so making sure they're relaxed round the horse and theres no tension there also helps with breaks too, just trying to keep complete feeling of calm through your body even if you're anxious, trying to remember to breathe deep and calmly, and learning that helps me with my anxiety in day to day life too c: I did too think penny looked a little off at one point but it might've been her going a little quick and stumbling downhill slightly as I didnt see it the whole ride, definitely check her over, when will your farrier see her?

Personally I think every horse should at least have bell boots on when riding just because anything can happen and it could save tons of money over time if your horse overreaches at all, not to mention it can prevent them from hurting themselves. The bell boots you all looked at won't stretch overtime as well. The part that tends to stretch out is the velcro, not the rubber :)

Maybe you could try an Icelandic saddle! They're designed for gaited horses and most of them have super padded seats and are really comfortable!

Hey Gabby you can always get custom made riding boots . too fit you better . And the bell boots that your mother had those won't come off at all. Especially when the horses are running around playing. all my 💘 to all

I have the Ariat paddock boots that slip on!! They are the best things I bought for winter and they are also great for riding!

19:00 for anyone interested I have a bracelet just like that but brown and the knobs that screw the nameplate in are a lot smaller for a cleaner look. I got it from Dover Saddlery it’s caller Perri’s padded leather nameplate bracelet! I highly recommend it for a Christmas gift. 🤗

I agree Laura, those bell boots would be a great job. You could put your ordinary boots underneath them. No hate at all, but gabby can sometimes be a bit of a fuss, they are bell boots that will stay on your horse and they are better than looking your other ones in the pasture! How and ever in the teenage years, you probably change and be like that! Great video as always. ❤️

Penny is doing so good but about her holding her head high walkers naturally Carry their head high but with some training she should start to lower her head and about the saddles I recommend a cut back saddle seat saddle if you get a English one they are the most comfortable on gaited horses and run in pretty big sizes I just recently bought one for my walking mares and I love love love it and western saddles It really doesn’t matter they are all great for gaited horses

I would suggest fabric bell boots. rubber bell boots can actually cut horses

For sophia’s round head Charles Owens, the IRH ir4g, trama voids, and samshields are the best and the safest!
