Hello friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday and are excited for the new year! Since I decorated for Christmas very early this year, I am taking down my Christmas decor immediately after Christmas! I thoroughly enjoyed my decor this year, but I am ready to have a less cluttered home and get my home reset for 2025! I have been decluttering and downsizing for several years, and my journey will continue! My goal is to have a more minimalistic home in 2025! First of all, congratulations on your new grand-baby! What a blessing! My Christmas is still up, but will be coming down in a day or 2 or 3. As much as I love the holidays, it's nice to put away all the things I decorate with and bring back my every day items. These things haven't been out since the end of September , as I decorate for fall and then Christmas. Your video made it seem a simple task to take down Christmas, but I know from experience that your day truly was L-O-N-G!! Enjoy some time off. You made short work of undecorating! I'm with you on putting out less decor! I have tried to get my kitchen counters cleared of unnecessary stuff but it's still looking cluttered! If I had room in the lower cabinets I could stash my toaster but it won't fit. Guess that means the lower cabinets need decluttering. 😊

Oh my goodness, I was getting a plan for how I am going to tackle and Declutter my entire home the month of January and I am thinking of areas that definitely need my attention! My kitchen is definitely one of those areas!!

Hi DeDe! All our Christmas decor- inside and out- is packed away! We don’t have a lot, but I love the fresh slate feeling.So looking forward to your January videos. I’ve been Swedish death cleaning / decluttering since we had the lockdown. And changing decor to more neutral- beige, black, cream- I find it calming. Congratulations on grand baby #3!!!!

HI DeDe! THREE grandsons!!!!!!!! God is so good! So very happy and excited for you! Great video to get me motivated to tackle my Christmas decor. I usually take mine down late Christmas afternoon but my grands are here from Texas so it shall wait. We got rid of our large tree and have 2 smaller trees and we love it! I have whittled down my Christmas decor and come January, I’m getting rid of decor and items that don’t work with my more streamlined decor style. I, too, believe less is more and it makes me happy when things aren’t so cluttered. Here’s to a less cluttered 2025! Happy New Year, sweet friend!

As much as I love the Christmas decor and tree, it is like a clean slate for the new year once it is put away. I am looking forward to the decluttering and organizing videos, I will be doing the same thing. We purchased a more slender tree as it only can fit in the corner of our room, and it is perfect. And all our collected ornaments fill it well!

Dear Shirley (oops I mean Dede) I love that wooden tray. You should keep it forever❣️❣️. We didn’t decorate until after Thanksgiving so the decorations are staying up until Epiphany (Jan 6). We really love the way everything turned out this year so we’re leaving it up for a while. I did a severe declutter in 2024 so I’m going straight to deep cleaning on Jan 2nd. That is my only goal. Hello Cynthia! I love the wooden tray too, I definitely wanna keep it out somewhere. I’m just not sure where! I don’t blame you for wanting to keep your holiday decor up, especially since you decorated after Thanksgiving. My daughter does the same thing, she decorates after Thanksgiving and keeps her Christmas up through the epiphany. Good Evening, Miss Dede ! ...present and accounted for, lol...yes, since you had your Decor up since the beginning of November, I would not fault you for getting things put away , lol. ( I did always leave my Christmas Décor up until January 16th,it was tradition to leave it up until after the youngest Daughters Birthday, which is in January. ,so we could enjoy a bit longer, lol).. Update will follow after watching! 😊 The UPDATE : 🙂 ....This was well done, my friend...and hiw you thought out the Process and did it room by room made so much sense, because thst is how I often would ( and still do ) approach certain " Projects "... or things needing attention / to be done. I had to smile at the Comment you made in regards to the Pkacemats/ Placesettings 🍽.... because I think it adds so much to the Peninsula/ bar area. And I was laughing in regards to the " Shirley "..." Surely she isn't going to use the Tray again... " .. 😁🤣.. ( I think I'll call you Shirley every so often...hahaha ! ) But, on a serious note..I like your Tray ,because it just feels like it belongs there , .. and it's easy to add Seasonal Decor to . ( just my honest thoughts). However, if I come up with an alternative, I will let you know . I really like that Cabinet that has the Artwork above it. ..the Cabinet is so pretty! I have no doubt that you'd enjoy the smaller type Tree in your Basement, a pre- lit one would work well,..then it's just decorating with The Littles .😊 You got soooooo much done ,my friend...I was getting tired just watching you do all this ! You should try a large round tray for your counter in the kitchen. Just a thought. Today we are working on the last room in the house that needs to be updated. Can you guess which room? Oh my gosh, that sounds like you have some major projects in mind! I would love to refinish my cabinets, but I don’t think I’m skilled enough to do it truthfully. I think maybe your hubby might be right maybe it’s time to take a break from donating the plasma. It seems like it has weakened you, so maybe a little time off would do you good! Since we don’t really do resolutions and we really do goals now, we have set our goals and most of them are doing more things around our home and enjoy enjoying the smaller things! I am interested to hear about your goals list.. some quilts? What have you got planned my friend? Inquiring minds want to know! Great job, "Shirley"! Haha! I almost always put away my Christmas stuff the day after Christmas, too, which is what I did this year. It just feels so good to have less stuff out leaving things feeling lighter and more open. I like the silver piece you put on the new storage piece at the top of your stairs. Simple and beautiful and it doesn't compete with the pretty artwork. I know you said you haven't found an alternative for the tray on the kitchen counter yet. What about swapping it out with the round one with the wooden balls on it that you have in your coffee room? Just a thought. At any rate, another job well done. I love you and your channel but you do one thing that I think is so phony and weird and that is to decorate with place settings!!! Why not just a centerpiece on the ding tabs and one larger container on greens or some on the corner of your L shoes kitchen counter and leave the rest for food prep? Also when you put away your new little den tree ornaments, I noticed you still had lots UNUSED in the box! If you did not use them this year, that's your question to get rid of the extra, in used ones. Other than that, you're doing great in your efforts to live with less!!!

Hi Dana 👋🏼 I’m not sure why I enjoy a set table but I do.🤷🏻‍♀️ I have always found it elegant looking. As far as the bar goes, we use those and eat there a lot. Instead of taking the dishes out of the dishwasher and putting them in the cabinet and then taking them out to eat it’s easier just to take them out of the dishwasher and put them back on the table setting. I did have a very sweet comment that mentioned it might be nice to try my dining room table without them and I think I will definitely give it a try. I did have a lot of the gold ornaments left , but a lot of those came from outside. If you remember, I put them in my lanterns on the front porch. I also used some on my back patio in in the chiminea, but I didn’t make a video about it. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to share and I hope you have a wonderful New Year friend!! 🤗

We have a big family meal on New Year’s Day so leave my decorations up until then. In the UK we tend to keep them up until 12th night- 6th Jan. but I always take them down before I go back to work on 3rd. I need to start the new work year with a clean slate and love the minimal rooms once the decor is away. Best wishes for 2025 ❤
