I want to be clear Dimash is the greatest singer I've ever heard and no one can do all the amazing things with their singing voice that he can do. Dimash is leading a revolution, an evolution, a revelation in singing. So, with that in mind understand that this young man on this channel is as close as anyone I've heard live. Pay attention to this young man and stay tuned. Remember, it's not a competition and Dimash wants to inspire others to explore the range of the voice and so this young man is part of the new wave of singers inspired by Dimash leading the way! Go Dimash!

You saved me the words. I totally agree. We gonna need more of Dimashs new singing school students. This young man can achieve similar future if he wants to. When it comes to music. But as life and personality and how Dimash own this stage. I think that's just one of a kind singer is almost perfect frol every angle.

Dimash ist not always showing off and singing high notes. Especially in his kazakh songs, his native language, he captivates us with such a sublime and expressive art of singing, it is outstanding and there is no need showing his full range. I suggest ' Salmatau' from Tokio Jazz Festival or Quaragam ay, the tribute to his teacher who died from Covid-19. Both performances are out of this world!

Welcome back! Your technical analyses of Dimash are so interesting to watch. You're one of only a couple reactors who were able to tell how Dimash was transitioning from his mezzo soprano to his high, almost coloratura soprano by bringing his flageolet down into his head voice. At least that's how we heard one other vocal coach who works with opera singers describe it. I'm not a vocal coach, but it was obvious he was doing some wizardry during that passaggio, and what you said about it makes sense. However he's making it happen, it sounds utterly unique. Love your analysis of "Olimpico/Ogni Pietra", thank you!!

With all due respect, your explanation is better than this other video with "vocal coach" as the title. I still can't get over the cockiness of those 2 reactors. Anyway, I think anyone who really knows what they are talking about, do not need to clickbait people by using "vocal/voice coach" as video title. You and Caleb Coles are the perfect example of singers who back up their talent with in depth knowledge about vocals. I wish you success in your future career, dude. Thx for the reaction.

I have watched so many Dimash reaction videos from lots of different voice teachers and vocal coaches and almost none of them actually seam to understand why Dimash can sing so high. But when Christof says flageolet, I think he is probably right, which would make him one of the only people reacting to Dimash who actually know how Dimash is doing it.

There’s a vocal coach reaction suggesting that maybe the reason he is capable of this “legit soprano” sound is because he began training at a very young age, and was able to preserve that high natural voice as his voice changed.
@ChristofChapsis
@ChristofChapsis Ай бұрын
Without undeniable proof that's speculation. I'm sort of pretty much certain that Dimash is not anywhere near the category of being a castrati (which is in fact an incomplete mutation of the larynx etc). After some years of study : Yes, Dimash' voice is flexible… by nature. But a matter of "sticking semi to your child-choir range"... Hmm, I'll stay out of the warzone; but let's call that debateable.
@lkayh
@lkayh Ай бұрын
@@ChristofChapsis I wasn’t suggesting he was a castrati, for Pete’s sake! LOL. The point was that he started training while his voice was naturally high, and continued doing so through puberty, which may have helped him preserve that higher register.
@ChristofChapsis
@ChristofChapsis Ай бұрын
@@lkayh I'm quite sure Dimash' larynx is fully developed. You can't "choose" to preserve biological elements unless with (drastic) human intervention. That's not an opinion, that's science. I can't back this up totally: I'm quite sure Dimash' current voice is muuuuuuuuuuuuch bigger (natural evolution, training, talent,...) than the pre-puberal equivalent. To clarify: At both sides. He sings higher and lower than .... Dimash Jr. I conclude with a little adaption I would like to make to your quote. "Dimash began training at a very young age." End of sentence 😝

When talking voice type, timbre and range are not always dependent on each other in a highly flexible/coordinated voice. Yes his tone here sounds baritone, but so does your speaking voice, yet your choice of singing style is a narrow high Broadway tenor quality. But notice his pitches. It seems much lower than it is -- he is well within tenor range. When he sings lower, he uses other coordination. His speaking voice is high light tenor, and his breaks/lifts are high tenor, noticeable in this song. But of course he is a master technician and can do whatever he imagines.

Olympico was the first collaborative work which Russian composer Igor Krutoy and Russian poetess Liliya Vinogradova created for Dimash. It was written specifically for the Opening ceremony of the II European games in Minsk in 2019. According to professionals, the cantata “Olimpico” is an outstanding piece of music in its character, energy, unusually wide range and interval jumps. It was written for the exceptional vocal capabilities that Dimash Kudaibergen has, and currently only he is able to perform it.

It is appropriate that you mentioned the words "God given" during your analysis, because, his last name Kudaibergen literally means "God given". :)

Dimash said he's a normal TENOR. I think that just about clarifies it for all.

Wow! I must say that although you're still a singing student, you have better knowledge than the last pair of "coaches" I saw who reviewed Dimash!! 😂😂 seriouslyyy there was a pair of "coaches" who don't seem to know what they are talking about! You can have a debate with them and win hands down! 🙈🙈 Please do Love is Like a Dream next! 😆😆

Yup - baritone is his "natural" tone - Dimash just decided over the years that he might as well sing up to and past E6 as a "normal" accomplishment for a bari - it seems that everything was VERY carefully planned and only releasing Dimash onto the world stage when he was in his 20's - the invites to perform must be a very lengthy document - thank you - most accomplished reaction...
