That rhyme wasn't intentional, but I'm sticking with it.
So, the end is here. The final hurdles to 102% completion. Including the hardest of all: Stormy Ascent.
In all honesty though, I genuinely love the remade version of Crash 1. I tried going back to the original a few times before the trilogy was even a thing, and... I honestly couldn't get through it. At all. The primitive ways to save, and the fact that you had to complete every level without dying to get every gem, just made getting through it so frustrating.
It didn't help that I grew up with Crash 3 which had better controls, better saving mechanics and more interesting ways to get coloured gems while still using the idea of not dying to get to some of them.
The remake though changes all of that, and brings the first game up to par with the other two. It's still relatively difficult, don't get me wrong. But the mistakes feel like ones that I've made rather than being any fault of the game itself.
To be honest, the N Sane Trilogy is the definitive way to play the original trilogy, especially on PC. But it shows a lot more when it comes to comparing the two versions of Crash 1.
