Folks, I'm sorry to be a Debbie Downer here but to all the people commenting saying how great his performance was and how awesome he sounded on ride like the wind, you need to get your ears checked because this entire performance was absolutely horrendous. I'm not trying to be a Christopher Cross hater because I actually like some of his songs and I have watched a lot of his live videos over the years and even though he hasn't been perfect and all of them, he could do pretty well in most of them with the exception of a few of them here and there. But, he could at least sing and sing pretty well for the most part so missing a few notes here and there is not that big of a deal typically. However, in this particular performance, it was just bad overall throughout the entire performance. As soon as I heard in seeing the first song, I thought there was something wrong because it sounded so bad. I read one comment that said that he might have went through Covid and I hope that's actually the case NOT BECAUSE I want him to get Covid BUT BECAUSE that would at least be an excuse for why his performance was so bad or his voice just is not up to par. Covid is difficult to deal with as a singer and I know myself personally as a singer who has had Covid. So, if that's what's going on, that's fine. However, if he's over Covid now and he's still trying to come out here and perform and this is the level performance that he is going to provide, then he needs to take some more time off and let his voice rest and heal so that it sounds better than this because this is just awful. Chris, if you end up reading this comment, I'm sorry to be so harsh but you can't listen to this and tell me that this is good. I know that a lot of other people are saying it was good but again, they need to have their ears checked because this was just not good. Sorry.
@andysmith61562 ай бұрын
YOU are right about the singing but dead wrong about his musicianship. I think its ridiculous when they don't change the key to their own songs so they can sing them night after night. He should get someone to sing for him because hes not comfortable doing it. As a musician myself I can tell you his guitar playing is as good as anybody He should hire me because I used to do all his stuff lol
@eldridge2012 ай бұрын
@@andysmith6156 well, to be fair, I'm not critiquing his abilities to play his guitar and his performance in that regard. Although I said performance and that does include his playing abilities and not just his singing abilities, I was referring only to his singing so I should probably clarify that when I said performance that I was only talking about his singing portion of the performance. To be fair, I have listened to some previous live recordings or performances of him and his singing and many of them has been good. Although I've watched so many over the years that there were quite a few that weren't good as well, there were a lot that were good.

We fans would rather be here at "Smooth Fest" any day than be at a rap show or a loud rock show with drunks, druggies, ho's and wanna be gangsters. Not saying those crowds are all like that, but you'll find many like that. This is for mature audiences who appreciate the real musicians of our time.
