Wow, Christopher Hitchens was truly an exceptional and intelligent individual. His sharp wit, insightful analysis, and eloquent articulation made him a force to be reckoned with in the world of intellectual discourse. Whether he was challenging religious dogma, dissecting political ideologies, or scrutinizing societal norms, Hitchens always brought a refreshing perspective and an unwavering commitment to rationality and critical thinking. His contributions to the field of journalism and his fearless pursuit of truth have left an indelible mark on the world. We need more minds like his, unafraid to question authority and challenge the status quo. Rest in peace, Christopher Hitchens. Your intellectual legacy will continue to inspire and enlighten for generations to come.

Lots of people on here saying they miss him. There's no need to miss him. He wrote amusingly and sharply for decades. Most good antiquarian bookshops have half a shelf of him. Some of his opinions and views left me cold and some made me cross. Some I agreed with. Some of my own were formed in part by his argument. But it's all out there. Hitchens was on the printed page before there was KZbin.

What a brilliant mind and force for reason we lost with the passing of "Hitch". I see no equal today except possibly Douglas Murray. I love that I listen to many of these people: Krauss, Hitch, Sam, other non believers and many believers alike including several pastors and I use these to fuel both my want to believe and my need to know reality. What I need more than convincing is listening to someone who is convinced (providing a filter that is only listening, not afraid of any consequence such as hell or nothing at all). This is a great video.

I privately look forward to the day that I can set the record straight with my own close friends and family about the truth of organized religion as eloquently and with as much finesse as Hitchens. I love scientists like Neil deGrasse Tyson and Richard Dawkins because they dismiss religion from the scientific side. But Hitchens does it from a more "dammit just think for yourselves" point of view. Think, read, ask questions, be skeptical, seek the truth, seek evidence, learn as much as you can about the world around you, appreciate life and the here and the now, take care of yourself, take care of your fellow human beings. . .all of that is 100% possible without having to submit your critical thinking faculties to an invisible supernatural deity.
