1:57 "I'm Andy or Andrew; I'm not particularly particular." Well, good for you. That has nothing to do with someone else's name. And then the lady using a very condescending tone saying his name at 2:38 out of spite for being corrected earlier. These people are a real piece of work!
@givemethatwhistle66168 жыл бұрын
How right he was! I have not always agreed with Hitch, but his intelligence is plain to see. He was a remarkable fellow. The word gets bandied around a lot, but he was a proper 'intellectual'. Strangely, despite his reputation, he doesn't come across as confrontational. I guess when you know exactly what it is you are talking about, you don't have fear of confrontation. That little remark at the end just puts everyone in their place,'I know the agenda for this interview you make believe journos and I am, politely, having none of it!

Hitchens seems to be the only one with a brain on this news clip, no surprise there. It's a shame there aren't as many free thinkers like this in the media as opposed to the talking heads. The world might be a different place indeed.

It's something that can't be measured with evidence or statistics, typical liberal feelings bullshit. That's why Hitchens calls it a virtual prize.

I shouldn't be too surprised by some cable 'news' hosts, but was still upsetting to see Mika and Andy act childish after the late Christopher Hitchens correct the hosts on the name he prefers to use. Hey Andy, just because you don't care if you're called Andy or Andrew doesn't mean others don't care about their names. Obama should have turned down the 'virtual' Nobel Peace prize in a dignified manner. The opinions used by some of the hosts that he deserved the prize by changing the conversation on the world stage, changing the world's attitude toward America, and enhanced America's reputation around the world would be laughable if not utterly sad. Afghanistan is still in a state of war, Yemen is in a very dire situation, Syria is still experiencing civil war, Ukraine is in a very dire situation, North Korea is still threatening other countries while persecuting its population, Libya is still experiencing civil war, etc. What has Obama done anything from when he won the award until now that reinforces the idea that he deserved to win?
@matthewborn88329 жыл бұрын
Don't you love how Statesmen from warring Nations receive Peace Prizes? I wouldn't even consider an "A for Effort" or "Honorable Mention" for most politicians, especially American politicians. The one possible exception being Jimmy Carter who didn't fire a shot in office and devoted his life after the Presidency to public service and humanitarian relief (he won the prize in 2002). The Nobel Prize should be reserved for the Arts, Sciences, and Humanitarian communities, period.
@matthewborn88328 жыл бұрын
+ConservativeAtheist Oh, that must be true.... they waited on Reagan to come in and trade them armaments in exchange for hostages. The red scourge gave way to the Arab democracy which views favorably US foreign policy and meddling and everything worked out for the better now, didn't it? Jimmy Carter didn't negotiate with terrorists, Reagan dealt under the table with belligerent forces while fighting his short sighted proxy wars. A spineless weasel still beats a craven liar and war profiteer.

Good God--Hitchens just now stated (at 4:00) that the acid test of the Obama Admin. is "Iran," and all these years later we have an Iranian deal based on a suite of fictions bruited about by his pajama boy staff, in essence all falsehoods. He called it--years ago!
