@@JG-us9luright, borrowing to enable tax breaks is sound economic discipline. Giving 216 million to tobacco is sound economic discipline. Telling people to be at work 5 days a week is somewhat archaic. If they're productive on their home days, they're not adding to gridlock and its associated costs. The entities involved could shrink their workspaces, which would lower their costs. So yeah, really sound economic advice.

@stevewilliams3087 You can spin things a any way you like, but you need to get up skilled on economics and finance otherwise, you will continue to look silly. What the last government did financially and economically was simply criminal, and they should be in jail. $155 billion debt, a dead economy, no business confidence and skill/braindrain that's going to be hard to reverse is the Adern legacy, No wonder she left the country.

He gives very clear answers,you just refuse to listen or hear. Wants and needs are unlimited but resources are limited….choices have to made…hard choices. The previous administration borrowed and borrowed and borrowed and borrowed ….heading to bankruptcy. As to office workers they should be present in the office working and being seen to be working…why not? They want to hide at home…why?…to skive off?

When you mix no real competition in the construction sector (like most sectors), throw in the government as a client, and a project that is critical, you get outrageous quotes. It should only cost $500m tops

Talking about contractors taking the Mickey,the speed bumps of Auckland at 400k need to be seriously looked into.This sort of thing has become the new get rich quick scheme,and those responsible for letting contracts/ accepting contracts actually need to be educated in the appropriate fields to prevent this behavior as it has become the norm lately

The money wasted on maori regards orbit, $75,000 and climbing going to one female studying just that, wasting money and time, including resources is mind boggling. Luxon this money would be more beneficial going towards Dunedin hospital that would benefit ALL NEWZEALANDERS in real time. National sort this crap out and STOP wastefully giving our hard earned taxpayers money to useless causes.
