Citizens are not customers. Customers can shop elsewhere if they don't like the way how a business is operating, citizens have to uproot their entire lives to move to another country. There is only one central government (or shop) in the country that people get to vote on every 3 years. That's not comparable to how the market operates where you have accessible choice.

Luxon reversed the smoking bill. Roughly 5,000 people die from smoking-related health problems every year, according to Health NZ. Among total Māori deaths, almost a quarter (22.6%) were potentially attributable to smoking, compared with 12.3% among non-Māori and non-Pacific people. The outcome of this reversal of legislation means that more of our tax dollars will be spent on medical costs for those that eventually develop health conditions and lung cancer (around $5,000,000,000 - 5 billion) Also this reversal of legislation means billions of dollars go straight to tobacco big business who profit financially from the addictive nature and harm of tobacco, including harm to our children and babies. These tobacco companies will keep making exorbitant profits because of this government. This is all despite an average of around 80% support rate of the ban. Including smokers. --------- Awareness, Support, and Perceived Impacts of New Zealand’s Smokefree Aotearoa 2025 Legislation Among Adults Who Smoke or Formerly Smoked Findings from the Oct-Dec 2022 EASE/ITC New Zealand Survey • 74% regret starting to smoke • 84% would like to stop smoking • 69% are planning to stop, 31% in the next 6 months • 81% have tried to stop smoking, 41% in the last year • But 87% feel somewhat or very addicted to smoking Search: Young New Zealanders want a tobacco-free future - new research 6 December 2023 Authors: Jude Ball Janet Hole Andrew Waa Janine Nip James Stanley Richard Edwards Findings: 78% of young people support major reductions in tobacco retail outlet numbers, 68% support a law requiring manufacturers to take the nicotine out of smoked tobacco products, 79% in support of the smoke free generation policy and 80% supported the smoking ban. --------- Search: Support for New Zealand's Smokefree 2025 goal and key measures to achieve it: findings from the ITC New Zealand Survey Richard Edwards, Ellie Johnson, James Stanley, Andrew Waa, Janine Ouimet, Geoffrey T. Fong First published: 28 June 2021 69-92% Support the ban --------- In summary, Luxon has the blood of 5000 kiwi souls on his hand. Each. Year. Yes. That’s right. He could have saved 5000 kiwi souls by proceeding with what we the people wanted. Instead he chose to burden us with more health care costs and more death. Fellow Co-Director Associate Professor Andrew Waa at Otago university says: “Implementing this legislation would have reduced smoking prevalence to less than five per cent for all population groups, and brought profound health and wellbeing benefits for everyone.” “It is devastating that we are no longer poised to achieve our goal of a Smokefree Aotearoa. One death from this toxic product is too many. Now we’re faced with the prospect of thousands of unnecessary deaths every year. Māori, in particular, will continue to be harmed.” --------- Please make sure this evil corporate crooked cronie is a one term government and stop their gutting of our health and education systems so they can say ‘see we need to privatise these institutions’ and then give the contracts to their mates and when they’re finished with politics, nek minit, they pop up on these private companies boards. --------- Luxon is the worst we’ve ever had. A money hungry crook that lies through his teeth, doesn’t care about New Zealanders and is a hypocrite.

Just like how 70% want lowering of speed limits and the government still lifting them. You support this? You sound a bit faschie bro In 2023 the anonymous donation disclosure threshold from NZ$15,000 was dropped to NZ$5,000 and requires parties to report all donations received, including those under $1,500 that were previously exempt from reporting. NZ has 100,000 households in energy poverty, companies going under, and now we are facing even more power price increases while the govt gouges dividends and tax take. We have to grow the country - NZ has had 7 quarters of negative gdp/capita growth. All set out in National's budget docs. I'm sorry, you need to be sacked. You have no understanding of the real problems NZ faces.

Congratulations, Chris! You made it through the interview without resorting to physically assaulting the interviewer. I don't think many would have had the discipline to keep answering the loaded, puerile questions. Obviously, Guyon, trained in the arts of Marxism and "Wokism," seemed as smarmy as they come. It’s like he was trained by the radical leftist Willie Jackson. This highlights, yet again, what we’ve had to put up with when our mainstream media is dominated by far-left journalists. I see this as a major underlying problem for our democracy; the same problem exists in education. You will not get a fair go from these undercover Marxists. The government funds these organizations, so it's time for something to be done.

A classic interview, yet another example of why the trust in media is in the basement and only getting lower. Why did you even get the PM on (that you clearly don't like) if you talk over him the entire time and not give him the opportunity to answer your questions? It's rather ironic that the majority of NZ continue to support this govt in spite of the vast majority of the medias fervent flapping and opposition to it. If you want to talk out of touch, it's you guys in the media that are out of touch. The majority of kiwis actually support the Treaty Principles Bill, but of course you wont publicise that.
