Your instructions assume the perfect level of baseline knowledge. So many people teach each note without explaining theory. New subscriber.

I'm 61, never learned this one (but if I make my wedding band learn this song I'd better deliver.) Gonna make the drummer sing this one. I'm playing the Bbm arpeggio at the 13th fret, but I'm lazy, and it puts me in position to finish it off. Pretty useful, man. Thanks.

Great lesson. You nailed Eddie’s phrasing. His phrasing is nuts.

Always seemed logical to me that because the progression is in Bflat, EVH would have used a downtuned (Eflat) guitar to play the solo in one of his favorite positions/keys: 7th/B minor. His B minor licks sounded in Bflat minor. Great playing and video.

Ive learned it in standard tuning as well. After a huge debate somewhere online they all agreed its in standard 👍 Great lesson as usual.

It was so annoying. It was a massive puzzle. There's a little riff in the last 20 seconds that has an open g. Pretty sure

Couple questions, just curious. When I learned this song about 6 months ago, I found it easiest playing a half-step down in B minor for the solo. Still sounds the same, I just found it easier to visualize B minor opposed to Bb. On that note, given album is in C and live in D, do you think Eddie would tune up/down or shift positions on the neck?

I have to disagree. Yeah chris is a great teacher, eddie is a great player and theres no doubting his talent but think this solo is awful. Sounds like a soulless non medlodic mess and just doesnt suit the song at all. Just shredding for the sake of shredding.
@paulallenscard8553
@paulallenscard8553 6 жыл бұрын
xWILZTAx Lol. Hate to do it but I'm gonna take the bait. Sounds to me like you've never even listened to the song and are among the stuck up "shred = no emotion" dickholes of the internet. This is a classic 80's EVH solo that suits the song perfectly (it's a pop rock song called Jump, so seriously?) and it actually is an awesome solo regardless. Stop whining and go practice some more. Cheers
