I'm a bit upset at insurance right now. I know there aren't any certain things with chronic Illness. But it taking an emergency hospital visit to get zofran. I may be wrong insurance, but I think a hospital stay is more expensive then a monthly supply of zofran. The courage and strength you both show through all of this is inspiring.
@KoalaBeAsh7 жыл бұрын
Depending on what insurance is, switching might result in higher monthly payments with the same results of being told "they're sorry they can't provide." So it's just a balance of trying to figure something out and they could still approve her, they just have to make sure she tries everything else first. I don't know her situation though, just giving an example of maybe why she hasn't switched? :/ I just hope she's able to get the help she needs because you're right an ER trip for that is way too much. Hope today/tomorrow is a bit easier Jaquie

It wasn't just to get zofran though - she legit cannot eat. This is a hospital visit to try to help her GI recover or to fit a feeding tube.

miss-megative I was commenting on that very fact that when in hospital no prior approval is needed. So basically if your trying to stay well, sorry. If your on a lifeline oh that's when we'll pay attention. It's just wrong.

I have gastroparesis, as does my aunt. She lives in Washington state and had a procedure done called a pyloroplasty. Has your doctor ever mentioned said procedure? I would look into it and bring it up. There is also a gastric pace maker they could put in your stomach. I hope you find some relief soon. I know the struggle all too well

Because of her having the procedure she only has 1-2 bad days a month. With how bad your symptoms are, you should bring it up.

I'm sending you so much love x I'm 18 and have hEDS, PoTS (and more) and am starting to get more severe symptoms of GP, such as tablets taking 5 hours to work, not managing to eat more than one meal a day without extreme pain and today I've not managed a full meal. I also have diabetes so it's pretty severe. I'm hoping it's just a really long IBS flare but I'm starting to have my doubts as I'm okay on a liquid diet. This isn't fair on any of us who are going through this. But you are managing so well with your worsening symptoms - I'm so glad that I found you. It's nice to have someone I can relate too even though I wish you weren't going through this x Thank you so much for sharing your life with us xx

I have issues with low sugar especially if I pause or stop ton abrupt. My hydration at home is D5 now to help keep my sugar up. It can get scary for sure. I don't feel the side effects really until under 50. The day my nurse would come to draw labs we would pause my TPN for about 30mins so not too pull in false numbers, etc. Which DOES NOT work now. I'd get calls from...nurse, doctor/s, TPN company, and Lab.... all asking if I was still alive! It took a couple of 35-45 readings before pausing was not an option. (I will mention also, by the time my blood actually got to the lab, I was already hooked back up to my TPN
