This is so true Thank you for writing that there. C.S. Lewis did an amazing job writing that and I love how he in the last chapter ties the whole book and all the scriptural references in the book together in the last chapter showing the true meaning behind the story.

@@foxteen8721 he was a Christian for over twenty years by the time he wrote these novels he also wrote many Christian apologetics books in the 40s probably the best known of those is mere Christianity . He was an atheist through his teen years but converted in his thirties you can read about his conversion in the autobiographical book surprised by joy . He belonged to the church of Ireland which is part of the Anglican communion and is one of the two main Protestant faiths in Ireland with the other being Presbyterianism. But the reason Lewis wrote him as a lion is for three reasons firstly that narnia is a world of talking beasts and who is king of the beasts ? A lion of course . Secondly it’s because one of the names Jesus is known by is as the lion of the tribe of Judah and the third reason is because when writing the books Lewis had been dreaming of lions add those together and you get this metaphor for Jesus . Also we can see biblical references in the first book look at Edmund as the Judas of that because Aslan is killed by the white witch ( represents evil and Satan ) yet resurrects so because he was innocent like Jesus but died in Edmunds place as Jesus did for us the difference here is that Edmund not only lives but is forgiven and becomes a monarch with his siblings . The characters of eustace and caspian in voyage of the dawn treader exhibit and display signs of the sin of greed yet overcome this with help from Aslan . Lucy in the same book displays envy aimed at Susan . I’ve also heard that the scene where Susan and Lucy are crying over a dead Aslan in that part they represent the two Mary’s who stood at the foot of the cross . The references are there if you look but you’d have to be somewhat of a biblical scholar to pick them all up to be honest . One I do know is in there is where he calls himself the great bridge builder . Another is when he is called high king over all kings of narnia another reference to Jesus as he is known also as king of kings .

Aslan points out, I believe in Prince Caspian, that he is known by a different name in our world and that Lucy would have to know Him that way here. You can know Aslan. OK. And what if you believe in something else. Like your own personal god. A voice in your head that helps guide you better than any religion. I believe the one you call God can take any name form and personal you wish. It doesn't have to be a bearded man in dusty dregs living in palace made out of white stone and gold resting in the clouds somewhere. And I don't have to take for reality a story of a man who was sent down to heal the sick, suffer death by betrayal, survive 2 yo 3 days on the cross and disappear from a sealed tomb in a ball of light. If I had to believe in a creator I would base them round a character that inspired me growing up. A memory I cherish. For me it would be.. Aniu, Lady of Stars, the Crescent Mistress, The Mother Wolf, White as snow, Goddess of humility, honour and loyalty. For no reason other than the simple fact I connect and soul with that image more than I do an immortal man in rags and a crown of thorns

Yes, if you watch carefully and remember your Bible stories well, you will find parallels that broaden your understanding of Jesus Christ's ministry and his apostles. C.S. Lewis was excellent at writing sort of parables for the life of Jesus Christ and his apostles. Though in the story of Narnia, Lewis makes it so that Narnia does in fact exist alongside our own reality on earth in another reality, but Jesus Christ and the Father exist within both realities, making it so that God's will does in fact stretch across time and space with no boundaries.

I may be looking too much into it but I think when aslan was telling peter of what he knew about him and the look that peter gave him makes me think that aslan let it slip about how he is an all knowing being and quickly made it seem that beaver told aslan everything by throwing in the bit about turning him into a hat. He didnt want peter to think that aslan had all the answers and could do everything for him since aslan wanted peter to work things for himself and stand up to be a leader.
