One of the things I enjoy the most about chateau vlogs is seeing the play of light against the various stone walls inside and out. This room seems bathed in soft tones, so there is a restful ambiance. Placid and lovely.

I may be wrong, but from a previous vlog, I seem to remember the fireplace no longer has an opening to the outside...or perhaps it was that bread-oven thingy/opening. Anyway, they put the children's rustic bookcase in the fireplace. Maybe when they rent it out (especially in winter) they will put a Franklin stove in there.

You are exactly correct. Your cottage has the most beautiful bones It will wait for a fine tuning and is beautiful as is. It’s dry, cozy, safe, will have work space and family space and working fixtures and can only get better from there. Finally you have a base from which to move to tackle these difficult duties of the future. That is worth its weight in gold.

May I suggest a tractor or digger bucket to move furniture? I lived on a farm that had a remote guest cottage. The tractor bucket was a game changer. First the bucket was scrubbed out with a hose and broom. Once it was dried we piled old comforters in it to pad it. We moved an armoire, bed, mattress, dresser, chairs, tabled and a couch! The ground was too vet to drive a truck across the lawns so we tried the tractor. Now those people move everything that way!

The bath leg if you can't find one the same take a silicone mould of the opposite leg and fill with cement or other. I had hoped your shower room was already done and the kitchen as well. So guessing the whole piping will be taken out then. I don't know how you will sleep with kids in the room but hey sure you have done it before. More function than decor at least for now. When I had the same issue with WC I just used closable buckets for everything toilet related and just moved in. Hopefully Stephane can get cracking on the WC for you and kitchen? Well done you four/five :) #patontheback

Margot has her trusty gloves on just in case there is a spider. I don’t blame her one bit. I dislike spiders immensely. I will take a rat mouse or snake versus a spider. My whole family gets after me would disliking spiders so much.
