For whom will never be able to get close to the Patek there's the Master Chronograph calendar from JLC, which, in my eyes of course, is one of the best looking watches ever made.

Vintage King Seiko is still incredibly underrated. Especially the 52KS series, which doesnt have plastic date parts like the 56KS, but does still have the external regulating screw! This allows you to regulate the movement by turning a screw between the lugs. This was only implemented on their monocoque cases

Disagree that Lange does the best date window - Glashutte Original date window has the two digits on a single plane, Lange is stepped and it distracts me. Also I don't like the empty space in the first position for the first nine days of the month, I think GO's zero is a better design.

A. Lange & Söhne may do insane levels of finishing, but I too prefer GO PanoMaticLunar more than Lange 1.

Completely agree. The empty rectangle on the left is ridiculous. It's poor design but A. Lange & Sohne won't admit it. They've sold too many watches with this flaw at this point and don't want to piss off their customers. A watch is supposed to tell time. Everything else is a distraction. A Lange & Sohne's date windows are so huge I can't even find the time. The date windows are hazardous too. They're so huge I'm afraid I'd fall through and go _boom!_

Love the Lange 1, but if you want something very similar and perhaps a bit more readable the Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar would be an excellent alternative, it comes in many varieties of color and material, and it doesn't break the bank like the Lange does.

The A. Lange & Sohne 1 is wonderfully balanced for all but 9 days of the month. I wish they used a zero prefix on the first 9 days of the month. It looks awkward with a blank framed window.

I have a Lange Saxonia Big Date Moonphase and love it as a daily. However, I still want a Lange 1. I can't tell if I want it, or just the hype and respect the Lange 1 gets that makes me want to do the switch. But having an automatic is cool lol

Laurent Ferrier and Breguet are the names you throw in to impress watch guys with your refined taste but that you actually would never buy. Objectively superb but not what you want on your wrist because you know you're not that refined yourself.

Moser Pioneer or Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Dress: Either Lange 1 or Moritz Grossmann MG001859 Complication: Patek Philippe 5016 I think this is the godfather of all watches or I would go for Patek Philippe 2499 I really couldn't choose just one because I love sooo many watches so I had to put two for each category

I'm a watch enthusiast and own several nice pieces, but when I look at the dial of my SD43 126600 it says ROLEX perpetual 1220m. On the case cover it says. Sell me and buy some ETF's instead before you sink to the indicated depth! Watches are liabilities and money pits. Only buy them when you are truly free financially.
