HI, I am a lorry driver with a passion with watch movements . my standard of work for example i can tackle a chronograph . i have striped and repaired a Minerva 19 ligne 9CH and also build many landeron 48 s , one i have cased in a modern watch case. yesterday i re built a Seiko 6138 3002 chronograph. (i have about 150 seikos i have repaired or service from a grand seiko , king seiko and around 30 swiss hooked on buying non working and repairing ) i came across your channel in the early hours of my last shift , absolutely brilliant you have me hooked . i have leaned a lot from you already ie 90 degrees 180 degrees . my minerva needed a new hair spring it had been pinned to the stud badly ( over coil ) and on others have attempted and succeeded in centering in and leveling a hair spring however over great time taken. your simple rules of from the center out , 90. 180 hearing that was like a light turning on in my mind , i have a spring out of center and level, i am going to follow your rule on my day off , i am buzzing with excitement . i am unable to watch your live steams as i am at work , i live south wales uk. i have watch all your videos . i watch on a apple box so i cant comment i have to use my laptop . working on a Rolco with a BTCo 13ligne 15 jewel , i have serviced it and i need to restore the dial so i have just fitted a replacement dial porcelain of the same date sterile from a FHF . THANKS Andrew Goodman i am hoooked

I can relate to Kalle's comment about the blood sugar! I am a type-1 diabetic and several times I had to put work on a movement temporarily on hold because my blood sugar dropped enough that my hands were shaking. It's surprisingly annoying when that happens and it takes like five to ten minutes to get it fixed and will absolutely take you out of the zone and kill your momentum.

Perfectly explained. I'm off to ruin some faulty hairsprings. I have now the theory but probably need another 20 years of experience to do it correctly. You mention drinking orange juice but assume drinking a strong coffee beforehand would not be appropriate :)

Hi there Kalle, glad to find you here as I cannot always watch the live transmission. Thank you for this very nice series about hair springs. I have a few of them ruined and waiting for me to learn how to fix them! Maybe sometime you can talk about balance/spring vibration. I think I understand the concept, it's to adjust the length of the srping to the specefic balance it is attached to so they vibrate at the correct pace. What I do not understand is why I can't use a spring that has been vibrated for another balance, I thought I should be able to adjust the pace using the regulating arm, as it can change the spring length quite a bit. I know this is not possible, but I can't understand the reason. I hope I have explained myself enough. Thank you again.

Wonderful videos. I made a snarled mess of my ST36 hairspring. Can you explain how to separate the balance wheel/hairspring from the upper plate? Unless I missed it, I didn't see it on your video. Thanks.

May I ask someone...what is the best way to fix a hairspring that is out-of-flat and "leaning" when one looks at it form the side?. I have a staking set and was thinking perhaps the punch with the sunken end may be useful, but I figured I would ask someone who knows. Any suggestions?.

Are all those screws/weights on the Rolex balance wheel Microstella? Also "when" or "how would you know" to adjust the escapement screws? Looks like a "Rabbit Hole" for Novice and Skilled watchmakers.🤕

I agree that there is some experience needed for timing adjustment. Do not despair, Rome wasn’t build in one day. If needed seek advice from a professional in your neighbourhood. 🍀💪

Kalle, I thought those impulse jewels on those ETA rollers were friction fitted and not secured by shellac. Was I or you wrong about that? I'm thinking that if friction fitted, we don't have to worry about the IPA and acetone. Right?

Hello master watchmaker Please, how to replace the broken pivot balance in the hair spring (nivatronic collet) of the square collet. is very hard and strong. Literally, the first video I clicked on. You are "TEACHING" Watchmaking on KZbin and your information is horribly incorrect within 3 minutes. The silver screws on that balance wheel are not for posing anything. These are mean time screws. Used for timing. Not to correct a poise error
