For those wondering like I was: When you play Remnant 1 or 2 and someone (mostly the Pan) brings up "The Destroyer", the Paxultek warrior who was responsible for the propagation of The Root, this is that character.

This was one of my first vr games and it was so good. I played Remnant a few years later not even realizing it was a sequel until I recognized the soundtrack. This series is so awesome!

The soundtrack of these games is AMAZING to me because it's so...vacant? Like, the games have a lot of the story and gameplay with little actual music, but the motifs are ABSOLUTELY recognizable. Those few piano notes when you find the World Stone, for example. "Dah, dah, dah dah dah dah...", is like 7 notes or so, but instantly recognizable. Remnant's Singe (Dragon) fight playing with that overall theme is one of the few places it's even really pronounced. Reminds me VAGUELY of the old LucasArts game Outlaws. And, of course, there's the victory fanfare in Remnant when you beat the bosses that has this glorious "Oh thank GOD that's over!!" level of victory and relief before things quiet down again. For a pair of games that so sparingly use music, they use it AMAZINGLY well.

The series is great indeed and remnant is brilliant, hard and addictive. This was my first game in the series and it was really good, I finished it on switch. The game was very hard for me but once I figured out thr enemies pattern it became easy. Remnant is definately I better game by far though. If they remade this game it would even be better but then again they don't need to, remnant 2 is on its way. Remnant last boss is difficult to beat on your own. U literally have to be OP with a similiar squad to finish the game

It’s chilling to realize that we hear Clawbone speaking in this game and actually get a taste of the scale of cunning he is capable of. We never interact with him in From the Ashes, even when he is the biggest villain of the story.

I do enjoy the mystery shrouded around Clawbone, even more so the fact we do not interact with him in Remnant Ashes. But this does leave questions to be answered in Remnant 2. Expectations I'm hoping Remnant 2 fulfills. As soon as I'm done with Baldur's Gate 3, will resume my attention to Remnant 2 and find out.

The first adventurer killed the guardians so the root can invade the worlds, and with the Labyrinth guardian killed, they themselves try to conquer the Labyrinth, and if they succeed, they have easy acces to the other worlds

So your chronos character is who the Pan call the destroyer due to you defeating the guardian and killing lots of their people, then the remnant from the ashes character is the wanderer.

Even worse, they basically killed one of the Pans remaining deities (the Ravager) or more accurate left it to die, which then resulted in the Ravager making a pact (or getting overtaken) by the Root. So the Wanderer really shouldn't be called the Hero, given that they technically accelerated Yaeshas downfall to the root.

So going off of this, in Rise From The Ashes, the dragon we fight on Earth is Clawbone and the Dreamer final boss we battle is our character from Chronos and that scientist must be Haarsgard. So not much time passes between Chronos and Rise although from rem 2 it's been 20 years since.

Chronos and Remnant 1 are one month in-between. I had a major issue with timestamps of the events, and the time reference in general in Remnant 2. Do they mention anywhere of the year in Remnant 2?

I haven't found anything referring to the date in R2. However, in R1, in the labyrinth, before you go to Rhom for the first time, going left instead of up reveals a path with a book from Ford. If I remember correctly, the date in that book was dated to 2165 (I could be wrong on that, please check for yourself for exact date). This still doesn't give up an exact year considering Ford was locked up for an unknown amount of time on Yeasha. But if we go based of that books date, Rem 2 takes place around 2185. But hey, that's a just a theory... A GAME THEORY!!!

Sea of Ashes or something seems more like, humanity is now freed from the Root reinforments, but we still gotta deal with the remaining ones and that's gonna be in a way worse, since humanity no longer has to survive, but rise up and fight once more. I honestly hope that they bring back world travel somehow, the previous game had more potential, the rebellion in Yaesha was never addressed, that was the only thing they didn't touch as a main mission in the Remnant, every other world had it's own plot, we could gather allies there, maybe they could bring back the Elves, yes it was established that there was one remaining, but they can still say that there were some more, bring the survivors to Earth to live, do something more with the Iskal, put some more worlds in the story, idk, we need more.

Question: If this happens 100y before Remnant From the Ashes (R1), why does our character not know or possess any technology? They don't know what a key card is, they don't have any firearms, but Harsgaard is already there. (Or who else is that Root-infested doctor in the end?) The only possible explanation I would have for this, is that they are from another world. They may well be human, but they're not from earth, but from another world that was already infested with the Root. But there's more: As we enter Yaesha in R1, the Root had only just begun their advance on the world. If they had nearly 100 years of time, one would think they managed to go further.

My question then is: why are the yeasha and krell worlds so important to the root. If the root conquered the Labyrinth, it would have access to all worlds, so why did it send you to krell and yeasha

I've had this inquiry myself, but nothing leading to any solid answers. Which means it's up to interpretation. And judging by the nature and actions of the root so far, my guesses are there;s no real importance, other than conquering all.

Haasgard was a human that was in-charge of the dreamer, willingly siding with the root to replace the dreamer (as we see happen at the end of this video) and setting in motion everything that's happening in Remnant:from the ashes.

The only reason the Root made it to Earth is because Harsgaard invited them by hooking up a Dreamer directly to them. That dragon Singe isn't clawbone is just a avatar made to scare other heroes.

hmm.. is it correct to call "prequel" a game, that was released earlier? To be clear, original "Chronos" (yes, short title name) was released in 2016 exclusively in Oculus store. "Remnamt: From the Ahes" was released in 2019 and expanded the universe created in "Chronos" and reused many assets from it. "Chronos: Before the Ashes" is just a republished to non-VR platforms game. So it's correct to call Remnant the sequel to Chronos, and not versa.

Honestly, the Chronos universe is a tier MORE SOLID than the souls. And it BEING WESTERN and AMERICAN and they made it feels so mysterious is just IMPRESSIVE - a real breath of fresh air seeing that CREATIVITY is not lost on Western Devs, in a world dominated by Anime and LAME CORPO Modern Culture. Souls just too many complicated shtts borrowed and mishmashed, diluted and convoluted to no end, and Elden Ring is proof that there is really no original source material they just MADE it up. To be fairs, souls is MASSIVE, just saying this LORE is being overshadowed. More ppl should pay attention to this and I hope we gon see a REAL community Emerge From the ASHES when 2 comes out. I'm modding the shtt out of Remnant, it being UE4 so ez to mod.

From what o can recall, Miyazaki (the head man of From Software and most of the Souls game), used his childhood experience reading The Lord of the Rings as inspiration for his method of story/ lore telling. He read and English copy of TLotR, but being as he was a young boy in Japan, his English at the time was EXTREMELY limited to say the least. So he “filled in the gaps” of the rest of the story he couldn’t understand. This is why the vast majority of Souls Games’ stories are through tidbits from item descriptions and environmental story telling rather than a straightforward or direct narrative. Personally, I find that method of story telling interesting but flawed. It’s difficult to empathize with characters when we’re only given 2nd-hand accounts of them.
