Jeff's Aussie made Chrysler Valiant 1965 AP6 small block 273 V8 sedan- review.
Filmed on the Central Coast NSW in 1997. Dave Cleverly and Jeff Andersen decided to spontaneously whip up this quick video one afternoon on the way home from a big day of freelance TV News Crew media work for the TV stations. There were no rehearsals for this Valiant clip ... just shoot and "action" :)
(From memory we had just been to the Hunter Valley Vineyards and had lunch with, and interviewed the Aussie PM at the time John Howard) The 2 same version solid cam 273's later WON their class at Mt Panorama BATHURST in the next 1966 VC V8 Valiant model AUTOMATICS! These were driven straight out of the show room stock standard and they came in together straight behind the leading Full race trim lightweight Minis that year. Every other car was way behind the Aussie Vals!

Mate of mines old man had the exact same car in the day for quite a few years - always loved that colour - remember it well. He finally traded it in for a new ZG Fairlane 351

The roofline kind of looks like the much later Aspen/Volare! This Valiant is probably a much better built car though.

Had mine, best car ever! Even better than the XE ESP! I could roll start mine, 20mph drop into 2nd and there you go! Did swap out the front brakes to VC discs. Put air shocks on the back to carry 4 bikes and bike racers! Cried my eyes out when it got stolen!
