As Dave says, why don’t I visit this river more often. Such memories, even the dog recalls my boyhood when I had a spaniel that would land fish for me!

Impressive talent on display on the Lugg, as you suggest under fished, and being very local I like it like that!!

Enjoyed that Dave,reminded me of days past when I used to fish with my Dad on the River Brue in Somerset.

A real Boy's Own adventure. The anticipation of the bite and the excitement of the hidden Gem, really enjoyable stuff Dave and I hope you finished the day off in true Wilson style with a chilli and a bottle of red.

Thanks Paul. There was a bottle of red floating around that night.👍

Watching that brings back all the memories of many a winter session on the lugg catching chub on cheese paste! As great as the Wye is, the lugg is still a very special place to be. Be great to see you trying for a barbel in the warmer summer months..

Currently fishing on the river Kenwater, which is a man-made redirection of the Lugg in Leominster which was used to move a water wheel by the monks. Caught nothing last time, it was my first time fishing. Going again Wednesday and gonna try some stuff I've learnt from you!

Great video mate, I'm a new subscriber and glad i was told about you. I live 10 minute walk from the Lugg and my house has a view across the flats. i was wondering ( as I'm a novice river angler) where abouts on the lugg was that, as I would like to be able to walk down with my kit. I live right by the Lugg bridge area and have my HDAA permit.

Really enjoyable video, I too grew up watching John Wilson, his chubbing on the wensum was brilliant, my local river stort, river lea was my wensum, love these short type sessions, is that one of Cadence new des Taylor range of rods?, hadn't realised they did a 1 1/4 tc rod, looks spot on👌, good health and safe travels, cheers craig 🙏 🌿

Used to catch a fair few chub from a backwater of the stort behind roydon station...keep saying I'll go for a look down there one day but haven't been for years and years!
@paganoutdoors31932 жыл бұрын
@@robertcourt8593 had a pronounced shelf/ledge on the nearside margin, had some nice chub and bream there, luncheon meat if memory serves, hadn't even thought of that bit for decades lol, walk along the side of the field to get to it..
@anglingescapadeswithdavero23632 жыл бұрын
Thanks Craig. Really enjoyable session. The Cadence rod comes with 2 top sections which turns it from a nice powerful barbel rod into a real traditional Avon quiver. Really enjoyable to use. 👍

Dave already loving the video and only a few minutes in. The mention of John Wilson being your hero has already made it for me 😀. Got my heritage centrepin out for a chubing session on sat. First time in a river for nearly 2 years!!! Dave is that on the hda ticket?

great video going to give it a go! what you think about lobs? guess the bread is a bit more selective better chance of a big barble or perch though maybe?
@anglingescapadeswithdavero23632 жыл бұрын
Lobs definitely worth a go. Caught my biggest Lugg barbel on a lob.👍

Hi Dave, I know this is an old video but where abouts on the lugg was this? I've fished wergins Bridge for trout with some good success and noticed som big chub in the margins. Went down to try and target them but ended up surrounded by bullocks which made it Impossible and a little scary! 🤣
