I could watch the final scene over and over. I am a huge chair fan, but their heartbreaking scenes are so captivating. The complexities and darkness of their relationship is what makes them the best couple on the show. Not to mention, Ed and Leighton are amazing at dramatic scenes. Chuck's face as Blair is walking away literally breaks my heart (not that he doesn't entirely deserve it, of course). But I'm addicted to watching it over and over!

One thing all the Dair shippers are forgetting..Blair has been her good self when she's with Chuck, she never felt the same way about Dan as she had with Chuck. Also Chuck never hurt her that many times I saw someone has said that, he did love her for her. Chuck never was about to be an actual boyfriend because he never really had an actual girlfriend before Blair and later on he finally matured and was the perfect guy Blair ever wanted when they got married. So people don't say Dan was the best guy for Blair just because you ship them because that's definitely not true

im 6 years late but dan will alway be the better guy! blair lost her true self when she was with chuck , he put her in such a dark place. he was a bad person he sexually assaulted serena and jenny , sold her for a hotel , almost punched her and hurt her so many times. she was BLINDLY in love with him . as for dan he did everything for her , she was happy with him and she found her true self again. dan only wanted her to be happy when chuck wanted her all of himself and treated her like an object

@@sarahassaad8121 I’m 2 years late but whenever I see this argument, I roll my eyes a bit because it implies a lack of character development. Chuck is not the same character he was in S1. He has a gradual character arc towards becoming a healthier person. Did he deserve a slap and a breakup here? Heck yes, but he does continue to grow and evolve, and that’s what makes him an interesting character. He finally realizes in S5 that his ups and downs are what’s destroying his relationships, and gets real therapy for it. He becomes a much more stable person, and surprisingly Dan becomes the one who’s manipulative. Dan even manipulates Blair in the wedding episode by implying Chuck leaked the video, and then whisking her off without telling a soul where she is. Then in S6, he asks to stay at her place with the intention of winning her back, but when she refuses, he writes an article about what a spoiled nobody she is. I can’t understand how Dan gets this squeaky clean reputation.

Chuck was so worried about not being able to carry on his father's legacy - something his father had made him believe that he wouldn't be able to do his whole life and what his father's "ghost" taunted him about (becoming too soft business-wise, because of his feelings for Blair) - that he become desperate to hold on to his hotel and thus was able to sell Blair out. How awful.

This was awful honestly you don't sell ur love to anyone. Chuck went too far and crossed his limit here its a bad message and shows that money matters to him more than her safety. She could die or get hurt? Did he ever thought of that? Or her life wasn't that important to him at the time. Its kinda fell like he never loved Blair and was just using her as an arm candy to show off that he have a girlfriend. I was disappointed with how the writers portrayed Chair love/Hate relationship at times. This is way crossing the line and then he blame her was even more sicken? They're ways for chuck to save his empire and Blair at the sametime. Though he redeemed in season 5 I still wouldn't forgive him for this. Let's say I am an unbaised Chair fan I would criticize Blair for what she did to Eva as much as I am criticizing Chuck here. Blair isn't innocent at all but Chuck goes way too overboard most the times. I find Blair bitchness too childish and funny expect for what she did to Eva was bad but it wasn't that big and she can be redeemed but Chuck is too aggressive.

I agree with you, but also respectfully disagree. The idea that Chuck didn’t love Blair is preposterous. I think letting his walls down for anyone was a massive deal. Besides Nate, he literally never let anyone in. It’s why he went through women like tissue paper in earlier seasons. So the fact that he let Blair in, and had almost a year long relationship with her wasn’t for arm candy. He just has a really messed up perception of love. He’s terrified of it because it makes you vulnerable, and he’s afraid he’ll never live up to his father’s screwed up expectations. He also thinks love is like a fix-it term, so Blair has to forgive him eventually. He doesn’t take into consideration the trust & respect that goes into a long term relationship. He clearly had no examples of that growing up. So I do agree that what Chuck did was awful, and that Blair needed to leave him in this moment, but I don’t think it’s because he never loved her. Chuck decided he needed to be more like his father, more ruthless, and thought the relationship was making him weak. He says to Blair as much in the final season, where he blamed her for his mistakes but that’s the difference between a boy & a man.

everything in this scene is just amazing. the writers can write CB like nobody's business and Ed and Leighton can act it like its nobody's business. So many people hated season 3 but this really made it for me. The writing was amazing, the acting was amazing. This is the reason why CB is forever. So intense.

He did make mistakes and hurt Blair, as Blair has done too mistakes and hurt him many times! This is so heartbreaking because Chuck let his walls down to be with Blair, and you can see with every little bump in the road, his walls slowly going back up. First the anniversary of his father’s death provoked something in him. He wants to prove himself so badly, but can’t shake the fear that love makes you weak. Then Jack sets up the mother fiasco, with Chuck opening his heart to someone and then having it smashed to bits. Then Jack sets up the Blair trade, which he never intended to follow through on. He just wanted to separate them, since Chuck was always a sharper opponent with Blair by his side. Chuck is totally to blame, and deserved the slap, but you can almost see why he did it. When he says- “I can’t let my feelings cost me all that I’ve built!” That’s such a Bart Bass line. Chuck considers himself a failure unless he becomes his father, but can’t juggle those feelings simultaneously with his love for Blair. At least, not yet.

I know this post is so old but there is more to Jack and Chuck one was when he lost his father Jacks first appearance came on to "help" Chuck as his guardian so instead of helping he took all of Chucks assets and shares to the bass industry then Chuck seeks help from Lily she adopts him becomes his legal guardian and takes everything away from Jack and Jack all drugged and drunk goes and tries to rape Lily and Chuck fights him and then he left and then Chuck found out that the girl he loved slept with Jack on New Years after all that then when Chuck opens The Empire Hotel Blair contacts Jack to help out with his liquor license behind Chucks back and it was fake then He was behind the scheming of his mothers return and convinced Elizabeth to gain Chucks trust and makes a huge scandal that makes Chuck sign off his Hotel to his mother but little did he know his own mother was going to give the hotel to Jack leaving Chuck with nothing and then months later he comes up with this stupid idea that brakes Blairs heart. Lol so much but yeah there is a whole lot of tension between Jack and Chuck.

This is not the chair i love, this is not the Chuck i love. the writers were so wrong to write this on a show with a teenage and femail demographic. 3x17 and season 4 are NOT the chair I ship. not at all. but I still hope for them to get together i again, because try to not ship them but i still get heartbroken by there scenes. lol in season4 for i was hearbroken and hating chuck. but i guess the fact i do get heartbroken means i love them still :/

i loved the acting here! but sadly this is when i fell off the chair wagon. blair is my favorite and chuck treated her like a whore. she didnt deserve that. he has done too much to her at this point and i want blair to move on...sometimes there arent happily ever afters people. with chuck his destiny may b to be exactly like his dad...all the money and power but the sacrifice is true love.
