it felt to me like Shaw wanted Chuck to kill the mole, because he knew that if he did, Sarah would no longer feel the same way about Chuck, and Shaw would have her all to himself
@ErikLeber-td7oj10 ай бұрын
Well played by Casey, here. He clearly knew Chuck didn't have it in himself to actually kill the mole but that he would have no issue killing Chuck. So Casey followed Chuck so he could still protect him. And then, he played the card only when absolutely necessary. He was always so good at manipulating Chuck and Sarah, when necessary. This is probably the best example.

This wasn’t manipulation on Casey’s part really. He just suspected based on the conversation he had with Chuck that they were doing the red test. He also believed as strongly as Sarah did that Chuck wouldn’t be able to do it. So he followed him as a precaution. The sort-of manipulation came 2 episodes later when Casey gave Chuck the gun when they went after Shaw. He only would’ve given him the gun if he believed Chuck would use it. He wouldn’t have set him up to be in unnecessary danger due to being unarmed. Chuck never took guns on missions, always tranq guns. So the fact that he got Chuck to take a real gun instead of a tranq gun was because he knew it would be necessary, and he knew Chuck would be able to use it if necessary to save Sarah.

@@Benrman But he also knew it would be better if he was the one to tell Sarah that Chuck didn't kill the mole, since she may not have believed Chuck if he told her he didn't. But ultimately, Chuck being willing to risk his own life to save Shaw, for her, while also preventing her from stopping him from doing so, is what actually made Sarah realize Chuck was still the same guy she'd always known. Casey telling her he killed the mole was more just confirmation for her of what she already felt.

@@ErikLeber-td7oj I think she was leaning that way even before that. In the restaurant scene where they hijack Shaw and Sarah’s dinner, she sat and listened. The last thing she said before they were interrupted was “what are you saying?” She knew he was there for her(because he told her that) and she wanted to hear everything. Saving Shaw just sealed the deal. Casey told Chuck that he couldn’t tell her because what Casey did was technically murder. Then he was listening to their conversation in the restaurant. He heard how important it was to her, you can see it on his face. He also heard Chuck tell her that he couldn’t tell her the truth, so he knew Chuck was going to protect his secret. He chose to tell her because he thought it might’ve been make or break for them, and Chuck wasn’t going to. He risked himself to push them together. She put it together when Casey told her what happened at the train tracks. I also think it just confirmed it for her. Not only did Chuck not kill the mole, but he was willing to protect Casey even at the risk of losing what he wanted most.

This reminds me of the scene from "The Man Who Shot Liberty Vale"

The mole was reaching for a concealed weapon, so if Chuck had killed him, would it have still been in cold blood?
@godoflemmings176 жыл бұрын
No, at that point it 100% would've been self-defence. But Sarah didn't see that, so it still wouldn't have mattered.

it's funny cause in the train station before he says we can't be together if i don't pass the test so that lets you know she obviously is considering it event tho she's with shaw

The thing I disliked most about season 3 was Sarah not standing her ground and refusing to be the one who gives him the test. I get that Shaw manipulated her in the conversation by saying it’s not about her and that only she could get him to do it, which would save his life when Perry inevitably tried to kill him to escape. I also get that she tried talking him out of it twice without telling him directly not to do it. And she was clearly uncomfortable the entire time. It just doesn’t fit with the rest of the season and her freaking out about what she thinks she did to him.

And being a spy in the real world is dull compared to this.

It's interesting that he couldn't stack flashes together, his flash here was only for knife combat so whenever the guy didn't use the knife Chuck couldn't counter.

Did someone notice that Hunter Perry was Born in 1984? Precisely on April 6th. 😂😂😂😂 I love Chuck but, often, plot bugs are funny 😂😂😂😂

She seemed like she doesn't know Chuck that he can't kill anyone. She used this as an excuse for going Washington with Shaw. I really didn't like this part of the show.
@Benrman5 ай бұрын
She wasn’t going to go anyways. If you listen carefully to their conversations in the next episode, it’s pretty clear she was going to choose Chuck anyways. When she confronted him about the test, she watched him closely to see his reaction instead of just dismissing him outright. She sat and listened to him in the restaurant and the last thing she said was “what are you saying?” Before he started his “I love you” speech, she said “you don’t have to…” Before Casey told her the truth, she said “if you’re here to plead his case, that’s really not necessary” while having their picture on her night stand.

I still don’t like that she wasn’t going to be with Chuck because he killed one person. While it was okay for her to kill multiple people and have him be okay with while he was clearly not. But he still accepted her. I felt like their relationship was so one sides
@ErikLeber-td7oj10 ай бұрын
But the only person Chuck had actually seen her kill was the Fulcrum agent, which was to protect him. And she liked him because he wasn't like every other spy. She didn't want him to change who he is.
@maryamfazil867 ай бұрын
I never understood why Chuck was surprised he had to kill someone as the final part of his training when he saw Sarah kill that Fulcrum agent in season 2 and couldn't accept it. It's like he forgot that spies kill but then we never would've got season 3 onwards if he hadn't decided to become a spy
@Benrman5 ай бұрын
@@maryamfazil86 He probably didn’t know that he would be tested specifically on if he would kill someone just on orders. He knew that spies did kill, and that it was dangerous, but he probably just assumed they were trained to be capable of it rather than specifically tested on it.
