I had a stock 1971 pinto in the mid 1980s which had the 2000cc engine and 4 speed and I found it kind of fun to drive! One of the few cars back then that had rack and pinion steering and 102hp got the super light car around well. My other 'fun' car was a 65 Mustang with 351C engine with 4 speed. Fun but only averaged 8mpg. The Pinto got me 25-30mpg.

I have a pair of 72 pintos one stock with a paisley top, and one that l drag race with a 408 stroker, and a glide ran best time of 9.90 in the quarter.

Nice car. I have a 79 with 351w, t5, 9" w/4.30/detroit, 4link, 31.18.50MT/pro. It is under construction but drives. Needs the doors, glass, and paint to finish. New to the 4link setup and hope to get mine working as well as yours. Good job on your car.

I'm a Ford and a Pinto guy so don't get me wrong. But sooner or later there is always a Camaro. In every class of racing I've watch or done. I learned to hate Cameros so much the respect it caused became great. I even got to crew a good Camaro American Sedan road racer for a few years. Damn Camaro was pretty quick.

No hate, you can do whatever you want, I am A SERIOUS ford guy also and I used to race a lot and had several run ins with camaros and I've waxed some and many waxed me, but you know what, I'll always love the 69 camaro, I would still buy one today if I could.

Set your traction bars up more and a little lower on the wheelie bars ,,,,,no ,,really slamming the wheelie bars 1st and second gear get the weight a little ahead of the rear-end
