Wow, That old Pinto had patina before patina was cool!

I worked at a used car lot back in the late 70's.We had all kinds of cool cars back then.One that comes to mind was a 74 Pinto I took in on trade for $50.00.The drivers door sagged but other than that it ran like a top. 4 cylinder, 4 speed.I drove it for about a week.Great running little car.

When I was a kid a neighbor shoehorned a suped up 428CJ into a Pinto with big drag slicks on the back. Thing would pull wheel stands like a motorcycle.

@Machi 74005 Back in the early 70's, a good friend put a 427 Ford, bored 30 w/428 CJ crank. That made it a 454,built C6 & 4.57 9" into a '65 Mustang fastback. You talk about FAST!!!

Had a 72 hatch back my dad and I put a 289 high performance in it with an automatic transmission back in 1977 it would pull the front end and spin through 1.2nd and into drive. We kept the stock rear end in it and the 13" tires had keystone rims on it 60s on the back skinny on the front it was some what a sleeper. Every one thought it was a little pinto whith rims until they pulled up beside it .embarrased a lot of people 🤣

@Jimmy Sullivan I'm shocked that rear held up! I didn't know the guy,but my friend did. He had a Pinto with the 289 Kcode,4 speed & 9"rear end in it. He got in financial trouble & sold it,never knew who bought it or seen it again.

Built a 72 with the truck lid. 302 c4 nod 9". Hub caps g60 rear tires put the stock muffler in place as a sleeper effect.😂

We wonder the same thing. We have tracked down 2 of the 3 owners its had since my Dad sold it in the late 80’s. We really want it back, I need to race it and have my son and daughter have the memories of me racing it I have of my Dad racing it when I was a kid.

I stood next to this car all the time at bremerton. You guys pitted next to the tower. My dad raced a purple 1965 comet and a red maverick.

@@TheRailFanDood I'm 69 now,sure miss the early 70's! I bracket raced my '65 Mustang fastback, real 289 Kcode. It was also my daily driver. With a 4.57 posi,7" cheater slicks it ran 8.30 in the 1/8. They didn't give us the MPH, only E.T.'s. I sure had a lot of fun with that car!

Must have been pretty humiliating to lose to a Pinto
@EBthere2 жыл бұрын
Nothing humiliating about it. Pintos and Vegas had been getting modified and raced for 12 years when this video was made.
