CHUCKY TV Series Sucks! (RANT)

I wonder if this series was made for a younger audience, not for fans of the movies or at least not the older movies. It feels like the main audience is teens and very young adults. I, personally, was looking forward to some good ol' horror, Chucky and some of the old characters (mainly Andy) and not teen drama. A lot of old horror movies also have teens in it, but their love lifes were not the main focus at least. Also Chucky being supportive of LGBT+ feels.. strange and forced, considering he's an outright sexist. Is this really the kind of "person" you'd want as an ally?

Season 1 was okay it was a little too funny for a horror show. Season 2 & 3 are so bad it’s basically a sitcom. I’m a die hard fan for the Chucky series and it’s sad what Don Mancini has done to this franchise. Chucky is not scary anymore and Don doubled down on the comedy. The series is basically seed of Chucky just 8 hours of it… child’s play 1-3, bride & curse are great imo. Can’t stand seed or cult of Chucky. Don has completely lost the lore especially with all the soul hopping bs. So many plot holes in this series and wasted characters like Andy, Nica & Kyle.

Why can't they just make the TV series involve Andy as the main character and if they want to keep the whole Chucky clone idea then a cool idea is to have Andy try to kill different Chucky's in each episode. Each Chucky would use a different murder weapon and have different plans for what he wants to accomplish. Have Kyle have more screentime, have Nica appear more and not become completely useless like in Season 2, have Tiffany be Tiffany and introduce new likable characters. Have Chucky actually look genuinely terrifying with actual good jokes here and there. I'm sorry but the Chucky show I found worse then Seed of Chucky. Seed of Chucky atleast had atleast 2 horrifying death scenes and some funny jokes but this tv series did absolutely nothing for me and made me dislike the main teen characters alot.

After watching season 1, I get the story. Jake is gay, he likes being gay, being gay is hard, Devon is gay, he likes being gay, being gay is hard. Jake dad no like gay. Chucky yes like gay, kiss. Finger wag, finger wag, you somethingphobic Middle schooler kiss, make out, drink. Wonderful writing, I’m sure Don Mancini should be on some list.

I loved the first season 😭 but the second season I had to quit. I don’t know what it is but after the first season, the show started to look cheap? Idk how to explain. The show became too comedic and ridiculous. First season had little cringe moments but it was a great way to introduce Chucky back, new characters and the cinematography and style was actually quite good. Third season judging by the trailers look 10x worse than season 2. Love the movie franchise but not the show imo

I’m honestly glad they cancelled it. My mom and I disliked the show from when it started. It doesn’t have the Chucky feel like the movies do. Plus, a movie format always fit Chucky better. He’s a horror antagonist, not a drama character.

I just wish they didn't continue down the "horror-comedy" route. Humor here and there can be effective like with the one-liners and Chucky's dark humor, but as most people pointed out it seems the franchise is now too much of a self-referential parody of itself. Also, I've lost track of who is who like Chucky is in multiple dolls with some having their own personalities, and Jennifer Tilly is Tiffany who is now Tiffany inside of Jennifer Tilly playing Jennifer Tilly possessed by Tiffany who is both Jennifer Tilly and Tiffany Tilly Willy Billy Bo Bob Brain or whatever the fuck.

The worst part of the series for me were the puppeteers. Season 1 Chucky looks awful, it thought I was supposed to be scared of him. One thing that made Chucky creepy was his unsettling appearance. It was one thing that scared me as a child. Hell in my opinion, the Charles Fan Film has a much more pant-shitting design fir Chucky, it still terrifies me til this day, it has an appearance that would make me at 10 years old never want to be in the bathroom alone. Season 2 is fuck!ng worse, the whole face looks goofy as fuck. This shit looks like it wasn’t even made to scare kids. You cannot looks at those faces and take ANY of them seriously. Season 3 it isn’t that bad it’s that I find it a little hard to tell wether this a serial killer who was once human than a little puppet.

Update, haven't watched the show at all. But the more seasons come out, the more stupider it gets. Honestly, I'm so sick of Chucky. He's not even scary anymore. What pisses me off is it could be an amazing show. For example, the scene of Jake’s dad breaking the sculpture could’ve been really effective, but they had to add that shitty pop music soundtrack in the background, making what could have been a great scene melodramatic bullshit. The characters are unlikabke when we’re supposed to sympathize with them. I just want Chucky to kill them. Great video man!

I'm glad I'm not alone. I couldn't last one episode because I found it was way to heavy handed with being in my face with the Woke stuff. I'm not trying to attack anyone who enjoys the series nor am I trying be offensive towards anyone from those particular communities. I love Chucky as a character, I love the Child's Play films. I've actually had the honour of meeting Brad Dourif in real life at HorrorCon in Manchester last year called "For The Love of Horror". But I feel the Chucky series is just all over the place and too self-indulgent revolving around Jake as well as his orientation whom I really do not care for and am rather sick of having it being thrown in my face, as well as the other teenage characters who I funny enough really dislike. The screenwriters, as well as Don Mancini really do not understand how to recreate the nostalgia and keep the story faithful without throwing in the woke agenda. For example, look at Top Gun Maverick. The story worked fantastically without throwing in any agenda messages, and if anything, it was better than the first Top Gun movie. So it goes to show that when making a sequel to a nostalgic movie or TV series based on a successful nostalgic movie or a horror flick movie like Child's Play can be done, but if done correctly. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the Chucky series, the screenwriters and Don Mancini are far too blinded by Woke, followed by preaching their own political views and agendas down people's throats. I honestly in my opinion found the Chucky series is just unwatchable all around. I want to watch a movie and a TV series for the story aspect, not to be preached by real-world problems and agenda messages.

@@ChunkyChunko i enjoyed all the seasons because they are fun but i understand why you don't, you are more in tuned with the first 3 child play movies which are all fully focused on horror with Chucky's personality, rather than Chucky's personality, a lot of comedy and horror at the core (but as an almost side story) personally Bride of Chucky was my favourite movie in the franchise so we sort of have different outlooks as a whole, but season 3 actually balanced it better, as the actors all improved (especially the kids because they were just corny in the first season) and as you say the kills were gory, there is definitely holes though, especially in the last episode, it felt rushed in the last 10 minutes (it was decent prior) ignore my english please
