I was literally asking myself the same thing. And this is only from items. Fi has plenty more redundant explanations. On top of that overall text speed in the game is abysmal and cutscenes are unskippable the first time. Game: You found the sacred water! They really should have. Why Nintendo never felt that this text was a bad idea is completely beyond me.

Maybe they didn’t think it was a bad thing, also the wii was targeted towards a younger audience, I’m sure Nintendo knew that teens and adults would be the primary players of the game, but if there were kids playing the game, they wanted to make sure that the kid, who may or may not have the greatest memory, would be able to know what to do. So they left it in testing so that the kid would get reminders in case they forgot. It’s not that they are treating you like you’ve never played a game before, it’s that they are treating newcomers like they’ve never played a game before. Remember Navi was just as annoying and ocarina of time is a classic and has masterpiece status. I will admit (so as to be clear I’m not just sucking this games dick) that I hated how quickly this game drains the batteries in the wii remote. That got old fast, as did constantly having to recalibrate my control every half an hour, but fi, I didn’t mind fi
