You leave tools etc outside your house, random character picks it up and uses it and returns it, he/she progresses while returning a slightly worn tool, this is noted down later and your progress is partially hampered due to a worn tool. i think the reason the mireclops doesnt count as a fruit is because the main reason the crew is collecting all of the fruit to begin with is to gather seeds to grow back home. i think it probably would have left some awkward questions in the epilogue if they took it back home, given that the seeds presumably would grow into more full mireclopses. idk, just a thought

The Mireclops is not a fruit. It very likely evolved to look like a fruit to attract unsuspecting prey, similar to how an Angler fish's dorsal fin looks like a worm. Since fruit are the reproductive structures of plants, they are meant to fall off to disperse seeds. The Mireclops "fruit" was not meant to fall off, since the Mireclops collapsed after it fell off. Judging by its close proximity to the water, two-part body structure, and long tongue, it is very likely the Mireclops is a species of clam. Also, if the fruit was bait, then it likely contained non-essential structures. An Angler fish's dorsal fin, for example, can grow back if its prey somehow manages to bite it off. Given enough time, the Mireclops will likely grow a new "fruit" to be used as bait on future Pikmin squads. For now, it is recovering from its defeat.

How did Pikmin survive before Hocotacians and Koppatacians came to PNF-404? Their onions seem to get caught in things like the ground and in trees or underwater, and as we've seen, they would've never gotten their onions freed before the end of the day, and we know that Pikmin cannot live through the night because of carnivorous predators...so how the heck are Pikmin not extinct?!? Pikmin aren't smart enough to know to find a good hiding spot (heck, they're not even smart enough to jump across LILLY PADS correctly), so how on PNF-404 could they have lived THIS long without the help of a human-like alien?

Peter Kovalovsky I've never played Pikmin before, so I wouldn't have known that. But Olimar eventually goes home, so who's to say their onion didn't get caught in a tree like the red Pikmin in Pikmin 3? In Pikmin 3, had plot-convenient Alph not landed near the red onion the Pikmin wouldn't have gotten it out of the tree. The blue Pikmins' onion was stuck underwater in the ground. The wing Pikmins' onion was caught in a web. I don't remember what the rock Pikmins' problem was, but I know they couldn't have done it by themselves. All these problems clearly happened before we came to this planet, so why aren't they extinct? You could make the argument that the onions got trapped in those things on the EXACT day Alph, Brittney, and Charlie got there, but only is that just lazy writing, that's TOO convenient for the Pikmin that their solution is handed to them on a silver platter RIGHT when they need it. So how are they not extinct???

I like that when he was doing the puzzle he didnt just simply throw yellows directly up to britney which at that point wouldve been faster and simplier than what he was doing beforehand which is what i thought his idea was, he instead brings her down and tries to hail mary them from a spot way farther than that brick stand where brittany was already standing whats that logic.

The melon isn't a cantaloupe, Chuggaa, that's a musk melon. It's a super-delicious, VERY expensive Japanese melon with skin like a cantaloupe, but the inside is green with a silky textured fruit that's mellow and sweet. Didn't you notice that the juice was a pale green?

As another minor detail that I really like, and it relates to the Dusk/Dawn Pustules: if you listen closely on normal speed in-game, you can hear the sound effect for juicing waver, as if each individual grape is being juiced instead of the whole thing as is the case with other fruits. (Either that, or I'm imagining things)

My explanation for why the Mireclops wasn't the legit fruit because the juice was actually a deadly poision which allows the Mireclops to take control of islands and use them as bodies. So basically the poision would kill the Koppites (I think thats what they're called) with ease. However, the onion is able to neutralise the poision and turn the corpse into Pikmin. Hopefully this theory makes sense.
