Having been informed of this ancient relic of our Christian heritage I thought I had better go and check it out and I was not disappointed.
This old chapel is well worth going to visit especially if you like this sort of thing:)

Most of the time remote churches are kept locked and you can often get the key from the vicarage, but in the case of this old chapel there wasn't anything inside worth nicking:)

Good choice taking Chug, with that long track leading to the Chapel. There are still churches with the rood screen intact. The old (catholic) idea was that the preparation of the communion was a Holy Mystery intended for the priesthood only and that the congregation should not see or share this part of the communion service. This also gives an idea of the age of the building. Times have moved on.

I am always very happy to see another adventure that involves good ol' Chug Sandy. It never disappoints. I can only imagine the feeling one must have while standing inside an old majestic chapel that has been on earth since the 13th century. The thought is dizzying I think. And the beauty of the huge area that surrounds it is absolutely stunning. Another very enjoyable video my friend, very well done. Have an amazing summer and enjoy yourself to the fullest. See you on the next one of course.

Looming across fields and valleys, travelling along leafy lanes is the best feeling. I'll be buggered if I'm walking 😂😂😂 that is so me 😂😂😂 Just as well you didn't, ghat lane ip yo it was long! There's a beautiful place in Kent, called Aylesford Priory...dates back to the 12th Century and is still occupied by the monks today. I love it if I get the chance to visit there, for the history, the buildings and grounds and just gor the peaceful feeling there.

@stevetaylor8698 16 күн бұрын
Churches in England are mostly orientated West-East, with the congregation facing east to pray. Many smaller and/or newer churches and chapels do not follow this tradition. This particular building ceased to be used as a consecrated chapel in 1547 and for much of its life since then, was used as a barn.
