I’m glad you decided to give it a chance. What made Chuggington a good kids show compared to something like Modern Thomas or Mighty Express was that it was interesting for both kids and adults. Not as good as Classic TTTE mind you, but it has great music, memorable stories, and fun characters to spice things up. It’s a shame people like James A Williams and Tug pretty much dunked on it giving the impression it was a bad show when in actuality it’s pretty good! Anyways, thoughts on reviewing more talking vehicle shows like Roary, Bob, Underground Ernie, or Mighty Express?

I used to watch Chuggington before, if it’s not a Thomas related, or the Little Engine that Could, Casey Jr. or any likely shape or form. All I might known to say is that the Chuggington is constantly a known good show with a standards but different.

I'm just glad Thomas and Friends didn't try to be cartoony in the first place. I mean, Seasons 1 through 5 and even 6 to 7 were more realistic than what Chuggington was doing. and those 7 seasons were filmed with models so the engines couldn't move their bodies like they did in the later CGI seasons. I do not like the body gestures, I can take seeing it in Chuggington cause it was made is be unrealistic and more like cartoons, but it doesn't work in Thomas's case. I personally think Seasons 1-7 are not canon to Seasons 8-24 at all. One main reason is, The Steam Team concept, that ended up getting rid of Henry and Edward, to make room for Nia and Rebecca who we all hate, and Mattel took it way to far, they really wanted to make Thomas be more like Chuggington, which ended being the horror of All Engines Go.

The Brenner era is a good CGI era of Thomas and could be canon to Seasons 1-7.

as a kid I imagined thomas in chuggington, but instead of his face being part of his parts (no pun intended) e.g his eyes being in his cab windows and his mouth being on his smokebox, (similiar to something like old puffer pete) he's just the same as he officially is, but with knuckle couplers, that yellow thing behind him with the chugger logo, and if a bouncy chassis

Can you believe some people used to have a hate boner for this show, no seriously. There was a time when you would find a lot of rants from people saying it was a rip-off of Thomas, and there were some who made grounded videos on the characters using Go Animate. It was a pretty interesting time.

Thank you! It's about time people started appreciating Chuggington more. I'm with the agreement that it's extremely overhated. People who call it a Thomas rip-off clearly haven't seen it, but I can agree that Dick was wrong to criticise the original Thomas brand. Most of the characters are really enjoyable for me, especially Emery and Chatsworth. Also, I love the fact that Harrison was voiced by Colin McFarlane in both dubs, as this was obviously before he voiced Bulgy and Beresford, and the rest of the voice actors do a fantastic job with their respective characters as well. Plus there are quite a few storylines in Chuggington that I think could work really well in Thomas. Great review as always!

I only saw two episodes of Chuggington on Playhouse Disney when I was on vacation. Both episodes were centered around a character named Zephie who is supposed to be some sort of trolley or something. But the show failed for me to become a fan of it in favor of the original Thomas and Friends. For a while, it was considered to be a copy of T&F. Nowadays, AEG is considered to be a rip off of Chuggington since both shows have trains voice by kids who jump off the tracks and sing songs. Although Chuggington wasn’t meant to take the same realistic approach like T&F, it also wasn’t meant to be too unrealistic like AEG

Hey Trevor great review on Chuggington I used to like watch it on CBeebies but I lost interest in it and went back to watching Thomas and friends until Mattel completely ruined the show by making it too cartoony for no reason and now we’re stuck with the pointless rubbish All Engines Go. To be honest. I despise chuggington. Even hate it! Cuz if you think about it. Brewster is a rip-off of Thomas. Coco is a rip-off of Percy. And finally Wilson is a rip-off of James .in try comparing the others to certain engines in Thomas the tank engine.
