Chula Vista: Large Homeless Encampment Fire 07162024

LOCATION: NB I-5 JSO F St.
AREA/CITY: Chula Vista
DETAILS:
Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire on the right shoulder embankment of the northbound I-5. The fire started in a homeless encampment and spread quickly into the surrounding brush and trees.
The fire grew large but did not interfere with the MTS Trolley line or the I-5 traffic lanes. No injuries were reported, and no one was found at the fire scene.

So what's really the cause of wildfires near communities? Wildfires sprung up the same time the homeless issues became a norm. This is the PRIMARY CONCERN of most of US of the homeless camping out anywhere and many are in the entry points of forest areas, its why the law needs to recognize the extreme safety hazards for unaccounted people within communities living, cooking, smoking and falling asleep next to our homes is not a public service.

Well, they go there because nobody wants them sleeping on the sidewalks or outside of businesses. They have Nowhere Else to go. I Do Feel Bad for the Homeless. But I'm Also Frustrated Like everyone Else!!

There are PLENTY of other places to go, these losers merely gravitate to places where there is mild weather, a ready supply of the illicit pharmaceutical of their choice, and people who will let them sponge off the working population. 😐

Once again the state continues to let these homeless folks sleep on the freeways, it’s only a matter of time before a real fire 🔥 emergency happens. With all the stupid laws in our state, why don’t the state pass and enforce a law banning people from sleeping on the freeways. I believe back in the day it was called trespassing, but somehow the law is not enforced anymore.
