I always found the differences and similarities in Caribbean cooking island to island interesting. I am Puerto Rican, and my family makes this same dish rather differently. And I know someone from Cuba who also makes it differently. Love it.

I just got back from picking up the chops and lime. Everything is prepped and ready to go. Thanks so much and if it comes out half as good as yours looks I'll be happy. One day you'll have to explain the "toe" secrets to those who never heard of it. (Beans)

This was a really great video Zee! I love that you used shoprite ingredients because it reminds me of what cooking in the kitchen actually looks like vs. having everything pretty and prepared for recording. I've been watching your videos for years and I am a huge fan of your cooking! Keep up the good work and may the Lord bless you and your family : )

Everything looks so delicious 😋 I have a question, for the beans if I add homemade sofrito do I eliminate adding the onions, peppers, garlic or do I add it in addition to the sofrito? Thank you. I love all your recipes 🤗❤

I love your coming tips. I have to try them! Especially adding brown sugar to the beans. I recreated your black bean recipe which also included brown sugar but I didn’t know you added it to other beans as well. I have to try that. So you added garlic and something else to your beans after they were cooked?
