As wool felt is pricey, to cut down on the amount you'd need to buy and use you could add wool felt in place of the cotton fabric needle flap, and also use wool felt in the other places you want to stick needles through. Wool felt is usually soft and flimsy in comparison to acrylic felt (mine is anyway) and might not be strong and sturdy enough to hold pockets, so acrylic felt could still be used for the pages. From what I've read I believe wool felt is better for needles than acrylic or cotton because it keeps the point sharp and doesn't cause burrs, and it can help in preventing needles turning black or rusting. When I buy a new pack of needles I cut a small piece of wool felt and stick the needles through, then put them back in their packet. It's much better than the plastic packaging they're usually pushed into. Love this tutorial! I've just found your channel and you've given me some great inspiration to create a book for all my loose needles.

Honestly, I love this idea of a needle book. Your work is excellent however, you spent half of your video explaining what you were going to do rather than just getting to it and explaining what you were using and why as you went along. I found myself urging you to get to the point. This is not criticism but wanted to suggest how you could grow. Again, gorgeous chunky needle book.

I don't know how I missed these videos! I am catching up! I plan to make one of these for myself and follow your tutorials. By the way, I think you do a wonderful job explaining how to do it all! I wonder how important it really is to use wool felt for a needle book, especially in such as dry a climate as I live in - a cold desert? Anyway, I picked up a bit of wool felt but it is so expensive! We also have had a frost now and we still haven't got our wood cut for the winter, let alone stacked! lol Think we will be cutting it throughout the winter yet again.....

I get wool by shopping mens old suit coats at the thrift store. You can wash and dry it in the dryer to felt it. Then cut it in pieces to use. I hope this helps you. Wool is so expensive when you buy it at craft stores.
