CBP makes excellent Bibles. Plus they have great customer service as well. I love the turquoise text block.

Hey Tim, This is one of my absolute favorite Bibles, along with the Cambridge Concord. I found a used, but in very good condition Cambridge Turquoise on E-bay back in 2010. I paid thirty dollars for it. It's bound in red Berkshire leather. I'm not sure when this particular printing was done, because it has the Epistle Dedicatory, but not the Translators to the Reader. It has the concordance in the back, but it also has a Bible dictionary, harmony of the gospels, and the old Cambridge maps. I noticed something unusual in the center column references. In Hebrews 11:35 it reads, " Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:" In the part of the verse that says, "were tortured", if you look in the center column references, one of the verses it refers to for those words, "were tortured" is 2nd Maccabees 6:19, 28. Yet the Turquoise doesn't include the Apocrypha! I know that the original KJV included the Apocrypha, along with the original translator's notes, but by the time Cambridge began publishing the Turquoise edition, most of their Bibles no longer included the Apocrypha. I wonder if the later editions of the Turquoise still include this reference to the Apocrypha? Personally, I thought that it was good that they included this reference. I checked my Concord, and it doesn't include this reference to the Apocrypha, but I have a Cameo with the Apocrypha, and that reference is included in Hebrews. By the way, your review was very good, and the CBP publishes some really good Bibles. God bless.

Good review. This old classic typeset was masterfully done. A magisterial reading experience indeed. Like that extra margin space on the left and the right.

Wow! That IS a beautiful Bible!!! I had never heard of Church Bible Publishers. I wish I had known about them. I just got my husband and my son a new Bibles from Evangelical Bibles. I know they will love and cherish them, but I paid a pretty penny! This KJV is absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't mind getting one for myself!

I purchased a King James Biblefrom Church Bible Publishers about a year ago. As a gift for the pastor. It was a Black Iron Calfskin black letter Edition handy side. He loves it. It was the first Leather Bible that I have purchased in about 30 years or more. I have had many many bibles in the past. I just never saw the need for a leather Bible. But things have changed. Over the last 2 years I've begun purchasing leather Bibles. I have calfskin, goatskin and top grain leather bibles now.

I think leather Bibles are totally worth it. They often have a great look and last longer.

I have this Bible in the Cambridge and it is a wonderful looking Bible. The print is really dark yet no ghosting at all. You are right that this Bible has wider margins to be able to write in.

I love that brown... looks really nice. I have a 180 handsize with the same type set. It's so enjoyable to read from.

That's awesome. I bet the handsize is really nice for reading and carrying around easily. Which kind of cover does it have?
@javierdelgado15545 жыл бұрын
@@AFrischPerspective The handsize is not too light and not to heavy, perfect to carry around. 10 pt font is perfect if you have bad vision. The cover is a top grain cowhide... not as soft as the calfskin but soft nonetheless. When you first get it the cover is really stiff and has very little flop. I've had mines for about 9 months now and the leather has softened up a lot and has become floppy. I think I prefer the too grain over the calfskin because it feels more durable and the feel is are very nice like the calfskin. You cant go wrong with either one though. If you like something softer calfskin is your choice but if you like a combination of soft but thicker leather then top grain is the one.

Brown isn’t usually my favorite color but I think leather looks nice!

The first “nice” leather Bible I ever saw (and I’ve now inherited) was, or is, a brown, calfskin, Scofield, Bible with gold ribbon markers, KJV of course. It belonged to my father in law who was a pastor. I still have it but it’s a hand size so it’s way too small even with my glasses on.🧐

A lot of publishers have taken out the Translators Dedicatory because the publishers are Catholic, and the KJV the true word of God points fingers at their deceptive nature.

Cambridge has better materials and the maps are printed better. But the CBP Bible has wider margins. Here is a review of the Cambridge edition: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaKvf4l9oJp0hdk
