Hi, @@tammiebroggins. Saying "what you have done" is not really accurate. None of us Christians were alive when most atrocities were committed against the Native Americans. Some of our ancestors did terrible things, but that doesn't reflect on us since it wasn't a choice that we made. We can't change the past. We can only shape the future. Have a good day.

This is for everyone. You are welcome to do your genealogy. Don't you like to know your ancestors? We are all children of God and we are brothers and sisters. The church is inspired by Jesus Christ. The church donated and donates tons of aid and humanitarian that is not in social media. Because thats what our church is.... to help the needy... it is for everyone who is on earth.

A lot of people decry the church for not doing enough, but it does plenty. This is in response to that. I'm glad to know what good the church does, otherwise people would think we're totally selfish and that we do nothing. Things have to be reported to know about them. The good works Christ did were reported to the whole world, and that helped people to come to him and follow him.

In all fairness, this announcement was made in Salt Lake City, Utah, the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ. This was not a publicity stunt by any means. I do not see any mainstream media outlets covering this announcement, only the church's own media channel. At the moment that I am writing this comment, there are only 3,000 views, proving that it was a gesture to help the International African American Museum gain more recognition than the Church. The largest genealogical center in the world is available for FREE for ANYONE by the Church of Jesus Christ to bless the lives of everyone.

Maybe because 2 million dollars is more then enough for the building to be made. Many African Americans will now have the chance to find info about their ancestors. That is why the LDS church did it. Because families are #1 in the church.

The church is a global church, so it has a lot of interests to donate to. Any why in front of the cameras? Probably to show the members of the church that the church isn't about racism at all, in fact that such things are completely against the principles of the church. Most people who see these videos are members, and so it is educational to them.
