Imagine that someone has a passion for something. They study, practice, learn from those who are knowledgeable until they develop an ability to produce something. But that something that they produce does not exist to produce anything on it's own. It exists to take something that is being communicated and support it, highlight it, draw attention to it so that it grabs your heart and mind. Imagine a group of people who desperately want to communicate the message of Christ to those who absolutely need to know. The ones with the talent and the people with the desire come together and open hearts and minds. All parts of the same body serving God by glorifying him to this world. I watched this video and I did not see cheap entertainment. I saw the creation account in Genesis layed out in front of me, not just to hear and understand but to see and marvel at. Thank you Long Hollow Baptist Church.

It boggles my mind that anyone would actually think this is based in reality in even the slightest. Genuine knowledge of the universe is so much more interesting and awe inspiring than "God did it". You people scare the hell out me tbh. It's just so bizarre!!
@robertcalhoun204 жыл бұрын
O Fender.....I realize that my opinion of the truthfulness of the creation account in the bible is just my opinion. I can actually state my opinion without attacking another's simply because I disagree with them . Mainly because it does neither of our opposing positions any good to do so and of course it's just the polite live and let live way to be. If you believe your view of it to be the correct one then good. Ridiculing the opposite view does absolutely nothing to convince me I'm wrong. It just makes you look self serving and also a bit of a jerk.

Being a high tech lighting designer myself I was VERY impressed with this and I feel this SHOULD BE UTILIZED at all services if you ask me. It not only intensifies the actual experience on ALL levels but the message he was reading would have NEVER worked without the visual effects like you had done... Good for you and your team for putting this together! I do major special effects for churches all over with lasers and lighting and such and this was done exceptionally...

This is actually really cool! I understand the concern some have about churches being all about entertainment today and truthfully some are but it's about our heart. If our hearts are doing this for God solely and with the right attitude then it's ok to be creative and give the church something exciting to experience.

This is from Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN, a suburb of Nashville, TN. Long Hollow is a church with an average Sunday attendance of 6,000+ in a town of approximately 50,000. The church has grown tremendously during the past decade because of its commitment to reaching the lost. The multi-million dollar budget goes to support hundreds of different outreach programs including the construction and maintenance of orphanages in Haiti and Uganda.

Jesus said, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” ~ John 12:32 It doesn't say when you put up a light show to excite the senses it says to preach Jesus Christ. I'm not saying that because they video above is fine because it's a drama and nicely done by the way. I'm writing this because churches on Sunday feel the pressure to perform for the world when the world is looking for something other than itself. Think about it. If they don't see a difference in what we do then what are we to them?

Because of the church leadership, especially that of Pastor David Landrith, the church has seen thousands of people saved during the last decade- people from every continent have heard about Jesus and accepted him because of the commitment of the church leadership and its members. This church is a model for what every church could become and should become.

No miracles or trickery were attempted in this presentation so I don't understand your comment. Why do you assume this church doesn't feed the hungry? What if this presentation helps just one person begin to realize the power of God? If we are to praise God with everything we do, couldn't this also be a form of praise?

Greetings Morgan, thank you for sharing the video. Accidentally or not it was very inspirational. The devil will use every medium available to reach people. We would be foolish to not use all resources available to do the same. Question for you: What kind of lighting is that? Are they LEDs? I'm researching lighting for my church (much smaller scale). Right now we are using non-stage lights with numerous dead spots. I would prefer creating an LED system that we can build upon. Any suggestions?

You're assuming this was just for show and the excitement for those in attendance and who view it online. What if it was a mere attempt to illustrate the awesomeness found in Genesis 1? Your objection to the use of modern technology is interesting. For example, none of this technology was even dreamed about 100 years ago. However, would you object to a theatrical presentation using candles with liquid color filters, real smoke with someone fanning it and the use of elaborate costumes?

Scott Stewart Don't you think Paul was referring to a mindset? If the intentions/mindset of those who made this presentation was to present even a sliver of the awesome power of God, how is that conforming to the things of the world? Either way, Paul is speaking to fellow believers and warning them not so get sucked into worldly sin. I hardly think this is even remotely similar to what Paul was referring to.
@AlexMaldonadoMusic10 жыл бұрын
Scott, if that is the case, they shouldn't be using electric guitars, keyboards, drum sets, PA systems and microphones either because Peter didn't have any of those things. As a matter of fact lets get rid of power points, projection screens, air conditioning, heating and anything else that requires electricity or gas because that wasn't available in Peters time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using current technology in order to supplement a service as long as its done to create an atmosphere of worship. When these technologies are used to glorify the people on stage... thats when it becomes a problem. Lighting and music are forms of art and art has the power to touch peoples lives in big ways if done so correctly. If this type of church is not for you that is perfectly fine. There are many churches that still exist and don't utilize much technology but its important to have a respect for both and the ultimate goal these churches have despite their differences in presentation. On the other hand I do agree that some churches overdo it and lose sight of the purpose of implementing some of these technologies. The church in this video didn't. For you to say its a "false fleshy anointing'' is pretty ignorant.

Why are American churches like concert halls and shows?
@danielj798 жыл бұрын
Actually, the Bible speaks of Lucifer (Satan) being the person over Worship. His responsibility was to worship God with the instruments that protruded from his body, the songs from his voice and the lights from his body. In worship, we mimic these things by creating them on stage. God wanted them from His lead worshiper. Lucifer is no longer that, so, it's our responsibility to provide it. Now, I'm not sure where the world get its example from. But the church….., we have the bible. Our example is the original blueprint.
@AlvarArming8 жыл бұрын
Daniel Johnson Well. Comparing American churches to European churches, the American version of a church is way more party/production type.
@danielj798 жыл бұрын
AA Entertainment ... Gotcha. Yeah, we like the Freedom God allows us to have in Him. Scripture states. I Do believe that the church is behind. God gave us permission to do all that this video is doing and even more, but we slept on the technology. So, the world was able to afford venues that produced all of this and THEN the church got a hold of it. When all the while, it was available to us. We just didn't see it necessary. Every church in America isn't like this. Some are more free flowing withOUT the production and stage extras. The reason for different churches isn't to serve and worship different Gods. It's to present different ways to different people...., worship opportunities. Some like it this way, and some like to stand and sing out of hymnals. Same CHURCH. Different Churches.

With God being so creative why shouldn't the church be creative and reflect who our God is? It's all to crown Jesus. You know it also brings purpose to the lighting engineers, sound guys, and other people that have a passion to be creative too. We often don't think of them and think it's just a rock concert, but it's also serving purpose in the lives of those people as well as making church a fun place to be for those in attendance. I think people just can't have fun sometimes and think Church should be so ultra serious without any fun but I think differently. I think church should be enjoyed not endured. :)

Why couldn't it possibly be replicated if it were created by God? and there is something wrong with changing what is meant to be the true word of God because something is being added that wasn't there before. If anybody is allowed to interpret the word of god just to suit their end goal then whats to say that gods original word as handed down through the many prophets hasn't been changed to suit others needs in the past....
